Sexually explicit comment that I would like removed ASAP. (self.modhelp)

A Muslim on /r/DebateReligion has posted a comment that indirectly suggests that I will be sexually humiliated by him.

I have contacted the moderators and have been told that the post is justified and will remain public and visible... and then the moderator publicly praised the user and joked about being friends and ripping me some new assholes.

I'm forced to tolerate this kind of crap in real life, however I was hoping I could be honest about my homosexuality and rely on the subreddit anti-harassment rules to avoid or correct this kind of thing... but the rules are not being enforced.

The post and the public humiliation is making me very uncomfortable and I'd like to know if there is anything I can do?

I don't want to delete my account because I've got gold from other members of the debate reddit community and there is one specific troubled user that may contact me regarding his personal issue.

Is there any help outside of the subreddit moderator groups that I can contact?

Note that this is a preemptive question because I have PM'd a bunch of ModWatchers with my issues, however I'd still like to know what my options are if I receive no help (or more gay jokes from the ModWatchers).

As the moderator who approved said comment, (and by "approved" I mean that I took no action at all) could you please explain what subbredit rule you believe has been broken? Could you also explain why your account seems to have been created on the same day as the /udmf79 account which was owned by /u/lupisman?

And can anyone explain to me why the user making such a fuss never bothered to report the comment through the usual comment reporting mechanisms? Granted, I'd have approved the comment had I seen it in the modqueue because it does not violate our subreddit rule. Other mods have looked at the comment since and approved it. So what the is all this fuss about?

Except that only one person seems to find my comments offensive and they can't tell me why they are offensive. So...it's all sounding like a big steaming pile of BS.

You are probably getting downvotes because, as people investigate your claims, it is readily apparent that you are simply trying to be manipulative.

  1. The is no sexually explicit comment. It doesn't exist.

  2. Your comment history reveals a very strong anti-Muslim bias, suggesting that your fabricated story about a Muslim threatening to sexually humiliate you might be coming from your anti-Muslim agenda.

  3. You have used several sock-puppet accounts to complain about this non-existent comment. When all your sock-puppet account acknowledge being a gay man in Australia who hate Muslims, and these are the only accounts that seem to take issue with this non-existent comment, it's a sure bet that your attempts to manipulate people are going to be exposed.

Can you link to the comment? Because I have looked through your history and found the interaction between yourself and the Muslim (not sure why religion has got anything to do with it), but I cannot find anything sexually explicit in either comments or anything to suggest that you might be sexually humiliated by him.

In light of the vehemently anti-Islam rhetoric of your comment history and the absence of any evidence to support your claims, I hope that you understand if some people are a bit skeptical. So, please provide us with evidence. Simply saying something along the lines of "hey, there's a movie called 'The Secretary'" does not make for an insulting remark.

This comment is a reference to sadomasochistic relationship involving sexual humiliation which /u/Taqwacore is promoting between himself and myself.

I've been a bit busy lately, however I respond to at least 95% of the comments. In fact, a Christian recently gifted me reddit gold for a debate a bit over a week ago (that debate spilled over into PMs). I'm not aware of any claims that I've made that I couldn't substantiate in some form.

I hope that you understand if some people are a bit skeptical

The core theme of the film is sadomasochism... in fact the film is well know for that single point. User Taqwacore's simile of himself and myself as James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal is a clear reference to the sexual, sadomasochistic relationship that define those characters in the film. Additionally, Taqwacore seemed to go out of his way to link to film description on IMDB that describes the sexual, sadomasochistic content and theme of the film.

I am opposed to all ideologies that promote human rights violations. You may have noticed that I am also opposed to Christian biblical references to homosexuality as abhorrent. Similarly, I oppose Nazism for it's antisemitism and the KKK for it's racism.

We both know that is not Taqwacore's comment.

His comment was a direct reference to characters in a BDSM themed film about sadomasochism that are involved in acts of sexual humiliation.

This is no more confusing than an insult an obese person by making a claim they were like Dumbo from the film Dumbo.

The characters Taqwacore referenced are defined by their sexually humiliating BDSM relationship and the core theme of the film is that sadomasochistic relationship, as defined by IMDB. I don't think you honestly could argue that the film's theme explored administrative tasks.

Thanks. That is far from being explicit. I don't know if you have seen the movie in reference, but Maggie Gyllenhaal's character was far from being humiliated.

The charitable position would be to assume that it was nothing more than light humor.

I really do not see the issue that you are complaining about and the evidence seems to be mounting that this is simply an elaborate personal attack and attempt to manipulate other redditors based on your own anti-Muslim agendas. At the least, you are coming across as a bigot, at worst - homophobic.

I will concede to being a bigot because I do consider some ideologies to be better than others. For example, I am opposed to the human rights violations that the Koran and the Old Testament promot. Similarly, I consider the antisemitism of Nazism and the racism of the KKK to be paths that lead away from productive social advancement.

My homosexuality isn't a secret and I'm curious why you consider that I come across as homophobic?

Nah, you've simply misunderstood my comment or are projecting. Much of my time in the religious debate forums is spent discussing my concerns with religions that promote discrimination against homosexuals and the horrific social consequences of such hate speech, especially among homosexual teenagers (40% of homeless teenagers in the US are homosexual and about 40% of homosexual teens have attempted or succeed in suicide).

If my boyfriend were here, he'd tell you that I literally love homosexuals and I spend much time assisting him in charity work to help homeless teenagers rebuild their lives.
