Final post about Winter's botting situation. At this point I've given up and you probably should to.[Other] (self.starcraft)

My entire mission was to bring him to a stop and end his streaming career which he wronfully earned, but that will never happen because with sponsors involved all he has to do is say he didn't do it. That's literally all he has to do and he's completely okay.

So far he has:

  • Turned on sub mode
  • Banned subs for mentioning it
  • avoided any conversation about it
  • Deleted all statements about it which were nothing more than "Has it been a lie........ all this time.... FUCK."

Oh, and NVIDIA deleted my thread with 42 points and a 91% upvote rating. They obviously don't want to address it either.

Evidence against him is:

  • Everything from NickHotS
  • The viewbot trees NickHotS grabbed
  • The abnormal view spikes when he streams
  • The severe fluctuation in viewers
  • (Using chat to viewer analysis) Purchased the 2,000 bot plan from a botnet site which will remain unnamed but can be found with a quick Google

I didn't even mention how ALL of these profiles that NickHotS links in his post unfollowed Winter within two hours of being posted.

Man on a mission, and the mission was a failure. Hopefully we can put a stop to this in the future, but I am of no service and probably never was to begin with. Thank you for those who supported me.

i havent seen him break 2k viewers (mostly hovering around 800-1500) since the evidence surfaced, when he broke 3k viewers daily. Lets see if he ever reaches that 3k mark again.

The entire reason I even did this to begin with was because I know how it feels to be at the bottom. Just wanting to start out a stream. Not for donations, not for subs, and not because you're good, but because you want to entertain people and you want to be known and feel important. In real life, I honestly suck and I'm nothing. I'm a no-life loser with no talents aside from anything PC related. Seriously, absolutely nothing, but I'm a top player on Osu, I'm a high level StarCraft II player, and I'm a fairly nice person, but nobody ever came and although Winter didn't personally destroy my career, it was always depressing knowing a money pig such as that was more interesting to people, viewbots or not. Even Avilo put his two cents in and despite most of the stuff he says being nonsense, we actually agree with what he said.

Winter was caught, he knows he was caught, he knows there is nothing he can do to change our minds, but he knows that with NVIDIA sponsoring him he only has to claim innocence and he can go back to viewbotting. The only difference now is that the bots enable at a slower level than they did before and he has subscriber only mode on. Not only that, but he abuses his subscribers and donors. Are you a sub and you're curious why he didn't address the posts on Reddit? Well have fun with your permanent ban. The kid doesn't care. He is a streamer gone rotten from money the very second he purchased viewbots. You can shit on him being dumb or something all you want but he has a major in online marketing and knows exactly what he is doing, and I think this is why he does not fear the system. He knows exactly how to get around it.

There is nothing we can do. He is more clever than us, he is better than us, and despite tens of thousands of people all demanding that Twitch does something, nothing will ever be done. Twitch will never do anything, NVIDIA will never do anything, Winter will never do anything, and we won't be able to do anything.

Twitch will never do anything

I don't think this is true, it takes them a considerable amount of time to take action. This is because it's very hard to prove that someone is viewbotting.

However, in all of my time spent on Twitch, I have witnessed two streamers get banned for viewbotting.

The first streamer was Gullin15. This guy was absolutely hated by the LoL community so he decided to start fresh by getting into Hearthstone. Not much changed.

This video perfectly shows his personality and who he is as a person.

Some hilarious screenshots I wanted to share:

Gullin's chat was unbelievably the most toxic one I had ever seen. I came everyday not for the stream, but for the chat itself. The same thing happened with Gullin where you would constantly see posts on the /r/hearthstone reddit regarding him viewbotting. Nothing was done until months later, now he's banned.

The second streamer caught viewbotting was EggY. You can read all about it here. Also, the person who got EggY banned is the exact same person who posted the evidence against Winter, /u/nickhots.

One important thing to note:

When the evidence was brought to the table against EggY, he got banned from Twitch within 2 weeks.

I say just give it a bit more time, that is all.

You're just recycling some of the comments from here as if you came up with them but you're actually just making the people who said it look bad

Man just read this post. Kinda depressing. You can't ever blame any failures or feelings of not getting what you deserve on other people. I highly doubt your a no life looser with no talets outside of the e-world. I bet you could make stuff happen for you in the real world if you really set your heart to it. Fact is that viewbots or not, Winter gets viewers because he is a good streamer. He's not incredible at the game, but he is very good at constantly talking and attempting to entertain his audience. Looking at top twitch streamers, you get by if your really fucking good at the game, are already a name in the community, or by gimmicks (giveaways, boobs, being avilo etc etc.)
I have no doubt winter would still be one of the top streamers if he had never had a viewbot. I have watched him smurf while drunk and been entertained. I saw him get GM and saw that the passion was definitely real. I tried streaming thinking it would be the easiest shit ever. Well fuck me the minute I was in game with a webcam on me I realised how hard it is to be entertaining and chatty with basically only yourself. Seems that right now you may not be an entertaining streamer just by the way you doubt yourself and put yourself down in your post. You can do anything you want if you set your mind to it, just keep at it, and keep in mind that being cool and successful in the "e-world" but being a no-life looser in "real life" is mutually exclusive.

You're bringing way too much emotion into this, and there is a sense of evil in enjoying the destruction of another one's success. You use the words "we" and "our" far too much when stating your own opinions, and perhaps need to reflect on them, as you seem to have a very unhealthy attitude on a personal level. Many people seem to believe that just because you earn a certain percentage of fictional "upvotes" your statements suddenly represent the opinions of the entire community. Take what you read and experience on the internet with a grain of salt, as it is a world of extremes. It's easier to make extreme statements and show your support for said extreme statements behind the veil of the internet.

There's really no need to make it your personal crusade to ruin someone else's life just because you feel like you're a "no-life loser with no talents." Winter may in fact be guilty, but whether he is or not, you're not doing anyone, least of all yourself, any favors by posting all this comments and threads. The Winter situation is what it is, and at this point it's probably best for us all to just go back the the game we love, StarCraft 2.

    The only thought that popped into my head when all this evidence surfaced was "no shit!". Logs onto twitch, Winter 3k viewers. Rain/MC/Forgg etc. etc. etc. 500-1k. Chat in the pro's channels 10x as active as winters. Seems legit....

    dont be discouraged, yes they are playing it down. But you can the community with you. The more pressure you, and others, put on him make it harder to deny. There is a lot of shady things happening for example him dipping down to 700 viewers yesterday (which he has been at 2k+ for a year) and all the accounts following him. The more you focus peoples attention on it the harder it is to deny. Dont give up.

    Whats stopping Winter from claiming that he himself wasn't responsible for paying and enabling the viewbots? Like some charitable 3rd party was paying for the viewbots all this time (unlikely) but still you can't count this out because there simply isn't any evidence proving that he is actively buying bots for his own channel. Winter can always feign ignorance and I don't think he'll ever be punished unless actual evidence of him making payments to said botting site are made available.

    e: Without definitive proof, if Winter is punished, this sets a precedent where people who are unwillingly being view botted for malicious intent will be punished. Think about it, take a hypothetical streamer who averages at 120 viewers trying to make it legit, some guy who gets rubbed the wrong way by the streamer decides to fuck him over by purchasing a view bots service for the legit streamer's channel in order to get him banned. Its a shitty situation but at least the stubborn/ignorant are now aware that Winter's channel is/was viewbotted, and perhaps that will be extent of his "punishment".

    Seems the only solution is to viewbot everyone who is streaming SC2 until Twitch does something about it. We don't have to worry about any of the streamers we viewbot being punished since no streamer with a viewbotted stream will ever or can ever get punished.

    What can twitch do? They have no definitive proof that he willingly bought and paid for the bot service. The only thing they can do is devise a way to negate their service completely which is obviously a challenge otherwise it would be fixed by now. You can't blame twitch for not immediately acting and perma-banning his channel.

    Ok we got some evidence Winter was being botted. That's great, everyone has known it for months now. What exactly are people expecting? Perma ban? temp? They've been aware for a long time and their hands are tied when it comes to bans for exactly this reason. All they can do is to continue trying to figure out how to stop them.
