This image is so pathetic, seeing it cleared my nostrils.

i frantically scrolled through the notes for a few minutes, hoping there was something happening here other than ‘65,000 people on tumblr think it’s super feminism to ignore and dismiss women who disagree with them as self-hating and pathetic’.

and good news! there are, in fact, a few people pointing out that it is not super feminism to do that. they’re just immediately dogpiled by all of the people who think that it is.

if the only reason you can imagine any woman supporting equal rights under a different banner than feminism is that she hates herself, then you probably haven’t tried very hard. 

if you dismiss her opinions because she obviously just hates herself and then decide it’s hilarious to pass around pictures mocking her for being so pathetic -

- then maybe you should reread that sentence and now try to imagine why some women might prefer supporting equal rights under a different banner than feminism.

Are you? Are you?

Tens of thousands of feminists felt the need to tell this girl she is stupid, ugly, worthless, and repulsive because she disagrees with them about feminism. That is why anti-feminists exist. They are mostly mean and obnoxious and their critiques of feminism are confused, but you are why they exist.

And some feminists wonder why some people don’t want to identify as feminist. Because no matter how much you claim the definition and preach the message there are tons of feminists who will still judge people at the drop of a hat.
