アドベンチャーパートは謎解きもわかりやすくとても簡単な、いわゆる雰囲気ゲー。
オープニングへの入り方とオープニング曲が気に入ったならとても楽しめると思う。
どこか切ない音楽を聞きながら雰囲気たっぷりの情景の中を歩くのは、とても気持ちがよい。

時間巻き戻し能力もアドベンチャーと相性がよく、いつでも選び直せるからこそ、選択肢に意味があることを再認識させてくれる。
選択肢とりあえず全部選んでみたい症候群のみなさんにはうってつけ。

日本語は今現在（2015/2/15）ないが、英語自体はそんなに難しくなく、学生特有のスラングがちょっと難しい程度で話の本筋は理解できる。

This game features high school related drama from the perspective of a teenage girl. However the writing, art design, and atmosphere is done so well it will win you over. It tells a very human story while exploring the supernatural. The characters you interact with are entertaining and the story has a lot of heart to it. You are given the opportunity to make several decisions that will impact future episodes, which gives you significant input over the direction of the story. The time travel mechanic is used so well in this game as you try to solve puzzles, rewinding time to manipulate people and objects to your advantage. $5 for the first episode, well that's ok. I'm happily surprised & I can't wait for the next episode! =D

Wow! This game is amazing. It's like Gone home, Telltale games and Beyond two souls had threesome and the Life is strange was born.

The game is purely story based, it's like a movie. I was skeptical about time reversal but i think i liked it after all. In other games involving choices you always think that you could‘ve done something different. In life is strange you change your choice if you want. But this doesn‘t mean that there‘s only one correct choice.

Main character Max wants to be a photographer and photography is involved in every step. This game is made for a photography (screenshot taking), there‘s plenty of perfect photo shots to take. Achievements involve taking photos too.
Another thing which makes this game awesome is music. It creates amazing atmosphere and it‘s nice sometimes just to sit besides the tree or lie in bed and listen to the music. It's so relaxing.

I see only one negative thing about this game. Ok maybe two, but they‘re similar to each other. That would be facial animations and lip sync. Sometimes it‘s really annoying to see static faces and lips moving like saying blah blah blah.
Can‘t wait for the next episode and find out what happened next.

On a serious note though, It got a nice story plot and in each episode you have your decision to change your fate in the ending.
This game really is inspired by "The Butterfly Effect", you can't miss that bright blue butterfly.
You can rewind the time all you wanted here.
It has a great soundtrack too, rockin'.

This game is not complete yet (for the story part).
Episode 1 is really a great introduction to the story.

Having played some of the recent Telltale games and really enjoying them, I thought I'd give this game a try. I'm very happy to say Life is Strange has met my expectations - honestly, far exceeded them - with the execution and flexibility that the game has demonstrated.

The game is set in a high school setting, a special school for photography. Initially I was a bit annoyed when the main character Max starts nerding out about cameras in jargon I didn't understand, but it really grew on me once I started to get to know Max more! Just one of the things in the characters and dialogue that makes it so immersive. It depicts the high school setting very well, in a way that's kind of nostalgic and didn't turn me off like I'd expected it to. There's lots of teen drama, but I think the game makes it easy to empathize with, and you realize that these characters aren't just "stupid teens", in fact they're really resourceful and intelligent.

The gameplay, once you get past the initial figuring-things-out stage, is very smooth. Time rewinding is executed very well and the game adapts instantly to your choices. Finish a dialogue and don't really like it? Rewind, and instantly the people you interact with change according to what you have done in the new reality you've created. There are many small choices that impact what characters bring into conversation with you - leave evidence while snooping and have someone accuse you of it, and don't like that? Rewind, remember not to leave evidence, and watch the accusing character immediately change their body language and what they remember. I don't want to bring up comparisons that much, as I feel this game stands so well on its own, but well, compared with Telltale's games which really have the same story no matter what you do (mostly the difference is person A v.s. person B is dead), this game does feel like storytelling with instant player influence and control.

Overall, I think this game has great immersion and execution, and if you like games like this and would want to play one of the best I've experienced, try this game out! I look forward to future episodes and seeing how things branch out. One last thing - I love the "collectible mode" in the end which allows you to get achievements without affecting your previous choices or going through the hassle of replaying everything - the devs really are super considerate!

The first episode is very laid back , you get to know Max , her strange dreams, her friends , the campus of Arkadia Bay , her daily life ..and you learn of the missing of a girl named Amber .

I can't say a lot about the overall gameplay , as it is episodic and this is just the very first Episode of five . Let's wait and see. I personally like the laid back atmosphere and the time travelling .
I have to say for the older folks ..it kinda feels a little playing Twin Peaks ...if you know what I mean ..a little surreal .
but wonderful somehow ..

If you like story driven adventures and don't mind waiting for all of the seasons to be released , then this is a must buy . It's very fun and entertaining and promising :)

I must admit, I acquired Life Is Strange partly from the negative descriptions given it by so many men; from what these numerous Nice Guys™ say, it's an unabashed celebration in female supremacy, bloated with an excessive amount of pro-feminist agenda, and freely leavened with anti-male sentiment. I was branded by their upbeat forum denizens as a lesbian man-hating misandrist sexually abused by her father before I even got the game, and I presumed that as such I could only experience ultimate joy in its feminazi power fantasy.

This game... surprised me, however. It featured a touching, inspired storyline with many realistic and fully developed characters, with a lighthearted and calming atmosphere. Life Is Strange features beautiful graphics and tranquil scenery, accompanied by unique game play, marked with an unusual and innovative method of progressing through the game.

The female supremacy, however, was decidedly lacking. There was no crushing men beneath the steel toes of my combat boots, no oppressing men with laughter, no delight at causing sorrow with vicious malice and violence; there was not even any intrusion into men's safe spaces in the sciences with our exploitation of our gender, no being selfish and narcissistic queens of white knights, or whatever we're apparently doing these days. Instead of wearing the skins of slain men, greedily drinking their tears, and reveling in their screams of pain, I was captivated by its beauty and fascinating story. Even later I witnessed a man who was emotionally troubled, and only experienced concern and worry, and when I saw him cry, I felt no joy, only emptiness.

8.5/10 as a video game, 0/10 as a feminazi power trip

Life Is Strange is about an 18 year old female called Max. Max is on a journey to become a photographer, and on her journey she encounters situations, that needs her intervention to change the out comes, you get the option to rewind to change the out comes and try to make things right. The game will guide you and let you know when your at a scene or you can miss some scenarios, which I have done, and I also have missed my photo shoots for some achievements, so replaying to get them will be nessasary as i have found, i do not mind doing this as the graphics are lovely and a pleasure to see, so remember to explore in the game.

This game is not a game to play around young children as it has very bad language, slag and drugs in it, so i would recommended playing this game when they are a sleep or at school or just away for the time being. But the lovely screenshots would be fine to share with your children no problem there.

Also remember your Playing as a female character, not a male character so dont let that discourage you in anyway, I play games that have male characters and that is never a problem for me.

I was not going to write a short review for this game given its not complete, but for the lovely graphics and the screen shots I had taken, sorry about the spoilers, I felt I must share my thoughts about the game. I have so far enjoyed this game and so look forward to getting the rest of the chapters as they are completed and released, as i purchased the full unfinished game, and i feel that was a better deal, than to purchase them individually.

I feel the team at Square Enix, are doing a lovely job bringing this game as close to life as they have, and i hope they dont give up and so finish the game, to make the story complete. I now must wait for chapter 2 which I look forward to, as now things are starting to heat up, and so its left to be continued, I will wait patiently for chapter 2 :)

Welcome to the Idyllic canvas appeal town of Arcadia, you are Maxine Caulfield who discovers she has an Innate butterfly effect. You get acquainted with her friends and her surrondings in this angsty teen drama. With different decisions leading you to different consequences, the end effect makes you realise that there is a darker tone forthcoming while picking up the threads.

[Episode 1 Impression]

First off: I'm the kind of gamer the media tries to smear as "old 'gamer' 'gamers are dead' ".
Fast-paced FPS games like Unreal Tournament are my main deal, so are survival-horror games & Action-Adventures (Tomb Raider).
These people would expect me to hate this game, but guess what? I am absolutely all over it.
At first look I thought I would hate it, "oh no, not another Gone Home" I said to myself. How wrong I have been.

This is on par, if not even better, with the recent Telltale Adventure Games.
It is incredibly well written narrative experience (some would call it Visual Novel) and offers a fitting style of adventure-esque gameplay to the plot. It fully allows you to chose what pace you want to play the game in. Look at everything, or just go to the next goal.
I had to look at everything because as a young adult right now you feel blasted right back into you late schoolyears.
It has an incredible diverse cast of characters, without forcing a social-justice narrative down your throat (cough cough Gone Home), a thing I was incredibly please by.

The soundtrack is amazing and fits the mood. I was really pleased picking this up and will definately get the rest of it.

There is one thing I'd have to critizise though, that being the pretty stiff facial animations.
I heard people say the voice-acting wouldn't be that good, I think it is pretty awesome, it is just held back by really stiff animations at some dialogues. But that's pretty much the only thing I found negative about this.

tl;dr: This is a great narrative experience for fans of recent Telltale Games Adventure people who love stories that resolve around Teenage/Young Adult Drama.

The best story and the best gameplay implementation i've seen in a long time. Especially considering it's a humble "small" production.
There's Donny Darko written all over this, in a very very good way.
Voice Acting is perfect. Music is perfect. The art style is very personal and overflows with emotions.

I'm very very excited about this game, I'm going to be running around in my room until next episode comes out !

Gorgeous sound, visual design, and narrative. Pacing seems quite nice, too.
Took me about 3 hours to finish Episode 1—it's not short by any means—and I absolutely enjoyed every single minute of it.

Life is Strange is a adventure games with choices that has a consequences, there is no right or wrong, just choices. Yep, the choosing mechanic is very similiar with Telltale Walking Dead series, but don't get it wrong, its similiarity is like Halo has a gun that can reload, just like Call of Duty. Soo, Life is Strange is not a Walking Dead clone.

It tells the story of Max, a geeky girl that have the abilities to rewind time, how did she get that abilities ?? its still a mystery. There's some mystery here and there like why is he like that, or why did she knows that, and why did she get that strange vision at the beginning of the game ?? Of course like all super hero story, when the main character get that super hero power, they tend to use it on everything even the little things. The episode 1 stop with the main plot unfolding, very cliffhanger, but its an episodic game and i expect no less.

The characters in this game is really good, all of them is really lifelike, their behaviour and everything about them is very lifelike, and we even got some anti mainstream main character, that is not really confident with herself, very geeky, not perfect, and like to talk to herself a lot. She even kinda talk to herself about her being nosey when a player go to places they are not suppose to go, like when she go to her friend parents bedroom for no reason whatsoever, except because the player want to go everywhere.

The gameplay mechanic is like i said before, bear the similiarity with Telltale Walking Dead series, like you pick a conversation choices and the game will tell you that there will be a consequences with that choices... But instead of that button smashing dumb quick button event, we got a really cool puzzle that could be solve using the rewind time mechanic, like you don't really like what you said to someone ? Just rewind the time ! Or you really need to hide and crap !! you messed up your hiding spot, just rewind the time and avoid that ! that kind of stuff. Its really soothing because you can take all day to solve the puzzle because if you mess up, just rewind the time and you good to go.

The visual and audio in this game is design to be soothing and beautiful. The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful, i could listen to all of that all day long just to calm myself. the visual is well. Not AAA good, there's some low poly texture here and there, but its usable. Its very pretty in some area and again the visual is design to give the player that soothing atmosfer and combine that with the audio make this game really calming.

In the end, this is a really good game and definitely worth your time and money. I don't know what to say, i'm amazed that the developer really know how to give the player a good atmosfer and they didn't afraid to make the main character not the usual confident heroine type. Its really nice just to see her diary and listen to her rambling about stuff. Buy it now or wait for all the episodes to come out. If you like a good story telling, definitely don't miss this one.

Ambitious, solid start with interesting story and colorful cast topped with a time rewinding mechanics to provide you an interesting situation of being able to see possible outcomes of your actions.
While it's too early do a definite recommendation based on 1 episode, Life is Strange is a title worth keeping an eye on, since it has great potential to become a classic!

Life is Strange kicks off with a great start. Despite the high school setting, the story develops nicely and it's filled with interesting characters with very different personalities and problems.
You play as Maxine Caulfield, a photography student, who has to deal with her new-found power to rewind time. Thanks to the rewinding mechanics you will be able to "predict" the future and gather infos that will help you alter the course of events, and change things for the better....or worse.
Since it's only 1 episode so far, it's early to tell how ingame decisions will affect the story on the long run, but the rewinding mechanics do take some weight off from your choices, and yet at the same time it presents you with an interesting dilemma since you are able to see 2 short term results of your actions. You can rewind the events and replay with different choices anytime till you get the outcome you are satisfied with.

Episode 1 is a solid start with minor issues, aside from occational pixel clippings I haven't encountered any bugs. Graphically the game looks average, however the artistic style and lightning effects are good.
Too early to do a definite recommendation, but I like what I've seen so far, and I would say it's one of the recent releases with great potential if the developers can keep up this quality! If you are not sure about getting the full season then just buy the first episode or wait for the full season to be released! Be warned however: Episode 1 is very short! (2.5-3.5 hours depending on your pace)

- Not hyper realistic graphics for sure, but the artistic style of the game is nice.
- Excellent voice acting and soundtrack.

- Minor technical issues, such as pixel clipping at some point.

- Too short. Around 2,5-3,5 hours with every Episode 1 achievement unlocked.

Whoa, very surprised by this.
I can see my own personality in the main character Max so much. Shy, weird, quiet but very smart and not ignorant person. But i dont rewind time *sad face intensifies*
Cant wait for next episode.

There is Max, which is your character [girl] and you have a friend called Chloe, she is emo and she is the dope master.
Then her Step-♥♥♥♥♥♥ comes in room and says ' THIS IS YOUR WEED? ' then you have to step out and blame yourself that its yours, so you always fall in trouble.

Best game ever 11/10 !!!
