Plumbing in sub-Saharan Africa not built by colonial regimes, western aid agencies, or paid for and directly copying western plumbing, relying on western electricity? Belief has nothing to do with it, it doesn't exist.

Wow I must say I am very impressed by your proficient Google skills. You clearly knew exactly how many countries there are. In fact you have probably been to Africa too right? I'm sure you have because you have so much knowledge on this subject. There is absolutely no way you would be commenting unless you have seen it yourself right?

Well you are obviously a dolt. I have been to Africa and seen numerous people shit in family "poop buckets" similar to this and proceed to clean out their shit buckets in the same rivers that people down stream wash in. Ever wonder why Africa has such high infectious disease? It's because most countries there are third world, with limited access to medication and public health. Most first world countries have have exceedingly higher pubic health services and education than those in Africa.

Actually, I know you werent replying to me, but knowing the amount of countries in Africa isnt that hard. I find geography very interesting, depending on your definition of a country there are without a doubt at least 54 countries in africa and 198 in the world. Not knowing that is kinda ridiculous

I study international relations, particularly the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. Yes, a lot of people there live in poverty, and I'm not going to dispute that. Infrastructure is scarce and living conditions are deplorable in a lot of countries. But my point is that the continent is diverse and it's ridiculous to make blanket statements like "lol all of Africa sucks." There are plenty of nations there with GDPs per capita higher than some of those of European nations (looking at you, Eastern Europe). While that's certainly not the best indicator for relative qualities of life, it shows that African nations do have functioning urban centers and growing economies. It's not all one huge hopeless wasteland devoid of electricity and plumbing.

Now, that brings me to my main beef. What the fuck is the point of this post? First off, from my understanding this is /r/WhiteRights, not /r/BrownPeopleSuck. Yea, Europe and Africa have different histories and have developed with great disparity over the past centuries. So what? Ancient Indian metropolises are believed to have created plumbing systems well before the existence of the Roman Empire; does that mean Indians are superior to white people? No, it's just the way things happened.

Why bash Africa? Why criticize it for its poverty? Are you that insecure about your own accomplishments that you need to find a sense of pride through the innovations of your prehistoric ancestors? I hope you realize that while African nations on average are currently behind the rest of the world economically, there exist many new and successful social entrepreneurial endeavors stemming out of the continent regularly. Last week I met the founder of a company titled "Clean Water for Everyone" which is currently providing clean and affordable sources for water to Ghanaian schools. So far his business has brought clean water to 21,700 people. Are you going to scoff at things such as this? Yea, it seems basic to us Westerners but the fact that individuals such as this entrepreneur do exist in Africa and are at this very moment improving the infrastructure on the continent through private means and in a relatively successful and effective manner amazes me and gives me hope for the continent.

Sorry I kinda went off on a ranty tangent.

The entire continent's resources put Europe to shame, there is ENORMOUS international investment in Africa, and the majority of the countries extracting the resources are multinationals, using the decaying infrastructure built by western colonial regimes. Not impressive.

What's the point of any post on reddit? In this case, it might lead to a greater appreciation of the advances of ancient history and the foundations of western history.

That's a nice PC way of looking at things. For me, I'd rather look at what was keeping, say, the Celts of Europe back at that time. Or what led Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka to such greatness. Or the rise and decline of the Mughals, and why India today has bodies, garbage, and feces filling up the Ganges. There's not much point to studying anything without an analytic eye.

They use this same power in academia to demonize white history in Africa, who actually increased African standards of living exponentially beyond this triviality, while pumping up white guilt, diversity, and their own miniscule efforts in Africa and hiding their role in the slave trade. Even today, Ian Smith in Rhodesia and the Apartheid regime in South Africa are demonized after Communist Jews like Joe Slovo's terrorist campaigns overthrew them, while the economic, political, and cultural situations in those countries have completely collapsed, with racial hate murders skyrocketing.

As for Ghana, it's nice to cherry pick a minor western contribution with an African face, while ignoring the brutality of ostracizing "witches" to the North of the country to either be raped and murdered, starved to death, or killed by wild animals, or the abysmal corruption of Mahama's NDC government, or the shitty 138 HDI ranking.

I hear what you're saying, man, but let the people have a little pride in western civilization, as nebulous of a thing at that might be. White people are under constant bombardment of being the oppressor, the colonialist, the continent rapist, the devil, needing to be replaced, while their global population dwindles, especially in their own countries. 99.999999% of the assistance to Africa comes the US and Europe, it's tiresome to hear European achievements claimed by Afrocentrists, whites made to feel bad for who they are, mixing out of existence. Let the .0000000001% of people who are not cool with what's going on feel happy about themselves before the rampaging, unchecked breeding hordes unleashed by malaria eradication wipe us out for good.

Right on. White people are the minority, we're just 7% of the world population. In a few generations we're near extinct. If these savages gets to flood white countries much longer, it's just a matter of time before white people are a part of the past. And as long as the liberal Jews control the largest media outlets and international laws made in undemocratic organizations such as the EU and UN, we have no way of controlling our future. They will continue to force multiculturalism and mixed races and the inevitable destruction and extinction of whites.

Really? Because to me it seemed more to insult and throw cheap shots at non-Western civilization if anything. If this post were truly trying to appreciate historical European infrastructure it would have only commented on the left picture and would have provided facts and the history behind said structure.

But why demonize cultures for not being as advanced as Western civilization? Also, who's to say that Europe might not decline over the next few centuries and be less developed than other regions of the world? Every great society rises and falls.

Again, what's your point? The majority of successful business endeavors in the United States and Europe start off initially by receiving investments from outside sources. They're called investments for a reason. The money that CWFE has received is not a hand out, and will be paid back over the next few years as they generate more revenue. But looking past the investments, the workers and leaders of CWFE (primarily African) are the ones actually going out there and establishing the business. It's not as if they're useless and are letting their investors do all the work.

Secondly, why does the source of the money matter? How political could providing clean water to Ghanaians possibly be? I honestly can't see a downside to this.

Did you miss my last paragraph? There are plenty of entrepreneurs in Africa working independently to build new infrastructure on the continent. Yea, they receive money from primarily Western institutions, but these are investments, not handouts. I wouldn't call that carrying the third world.
