It's somewhat ironic that the international popularity of Mexican dinners came not from Mexico, but from America. Casa Fiesta, one of the most well known brands of Mexican dinners, played a key role in this popularity. It was originally known as Ashley's Mexican Foods, named after a Mexican restaurant, and a pioneer of canned Mexican foods (including canned tortillas!) in the 1930s. When the company became a part of the Bruce Foods Corporation in the 80s its name was changed to Casa Fiesta.

In the 1960s, Willie Pelzer noticed that rolled oats were only being used for porridge. Wanting to make rolled oats and other healthy grains more appealing, he experimented with honey, rolled oats, and other natural ingredients to form what is today known as granola. His family-owned company, Sunny Crunch Foods, has developed numerous healthy, tasty foods for 35 years.

Since its creation in 1932, Weetabix has grown to become the UK's #1 cereal exported to over 80 countries. It counts among its fans, Prince Charles. As a cereal, it is initially crunchy, but then becomes like porridge. It can also be toasted and served with cheese or spreads. Alpen is a Swiss style muesli that remains a staple in natural food stores since the 70s.

When Familia was founded in 1952, its goal was to mass produce Birchermuesli, a healthy cereal consisting of rolled oats, fruits, and nuts. Birchermuesli was a creation of Maximilian Bircher Benner, a 19th century Swiss doctor who believed in the healing properties of fruits and vegetables.
