This post is irrelevant to the sub.

Do you think taxation is necessary for the UBI you propose?

If so; then this post is very relevant to this sub.

We're not here to listen to AnCaps ramble on about their BS. Take it to /r/AnarchoCapitalism , or /r/libertarian .

I get that you disagree with the assertions made in the post, but they are highly relevant to the discussion of UBI, and I'd argue much more directly relevant than this post was:

http://www.reddit.com/r/BasicIncome/comments/2xel1c/one_in_three_germans_say_capitalism_to_blame_for/

I'll stop rambling about the horrors of taxation and government when everyone else stops rallying for more government power or against capitalism in general.

It's not even that I disagree. It's that it's irrelevant to the sub's stated topic. You can say and post any stupid thing you want, but keep it in your pants, man. If you want to complain about how bad you think contributing to society sucks, take it to your other subs.

So you don't think taxation is necessary for UBI? If this subreddit can agree that taxation is unnecessary for and thus irrelevant to UBI I'll gladly stop talking about.

If you want to complain about how bad you think contributing to society sucks, take it to your other subs.

I contend that contributing to society and taxation are separate and distinct concepts.

I suggest a means of contributing to society without the need for the coercion of taxation.

I'm not saying that taxation does not sometimes contribute to society, only that it doesn't always; and that there are other ways to contribute to society beyond taxation.

Do you disagree? Or is UBI only a good idea if it's carried out through force of arms?

This place isn't here to give a podium for every stupid idea out there.

This is a non-partisan subreddit, and we don't support any specific policy, political party or ideology (other than Basic Income). Don't assume people share your political views, and don't exclude those with differing views.

I think UBI is a great and inevitable idea; I just disagree that taxation is the best way to achieve it.

Maybe you should try to look towards what we have in common rather than where we differ?

if taxation is theft, it axiomatically follows that property must also be theft.

You're gonna have to explain that a bit more.

And even if we assume that this is true; certainly we can both agree that there still exist differences.

Traditional theft is objectively worse than taxation. You get nothing back, and no say or even the charade of one.

Even if you ascribe property to be similar to theft, I think property is more acceptable than taxation in the same way that taxation is more acceptable than traditional theft.

I can do that as long as you keep your posts on-topic. Example: I think the Crypto BI thing is stupid too. Ever see me call you out for it? No. I may not like it, but I'll be fucked if it ain't relevant.

UBI can be broken down into two haves.

The Demand side and the Supply side.

Everyone here agrees that there is Demand and necessity for a UBI.

We might differ about how much is appropriate, but even that is really more rooted in the other side of the equation.

The Supply. Where does the money come from?

Do you think that discussion of where the money comes from is irrelevant to /r/BasicIncome ?
