There is a very obvious reason that the grotesque specimens mocked on /r/fatpeoplehate are overwhelmingly women. The reason is that women post far more pictures online in general and post far more selfies in particular. Further, the HAES bullshit and "fat is bjuuuutiful" neuroses happen to be exclusively female foibles. The male landwhales simply don't post a million disgusting pictures of themselves and shriek insistently that they are cute. So, though they exist in roughly equal numbers in the wild, they present fewer ripe opportunities for mockery.

The breathless hatred for the fat on that sub is actually a bit much for my tastes. But I appreciate their ethos of being merciless when it happens to target tubblerinas who desperately need to be taken down a few notches.

A dedication to absolute vitriol outweighs the unfortunate but entirely coincidental gender disparity for me.
