He wasn't arrested and she let free because he hit a woman, he was arrested because he assaulted a teenager and damaged private property in the process. It probably would have been the same had the youth been a boy. The reason that is is because HE IS AN ADULT THAT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO ALLOW A CONFLICT WITH TEENAGERS TO GET THAT FAR.

There was no reason to engage in conflict with with them and we don't know what he said to her friend that prompted the attempted kick in the first place. Maybe he threatened the kid and that was her attempted to stop him, feeble as though it might have been. Maybe it did come out of nowhere and she is just an idiot kid...he should have, in that moment, stepped back and allowed management and police to take it from there. She did not seriously hurt him with that kick. All he had to do when they knocked his food off the table was request the assistance of a manager and phone the police and let those kids get what was coming to them, instead he let it get to a point where he was punching teenage girls through glass windows.

Its really disturbing to see people excited in this thread that this guy punched that girl. He is huge he could have restrained her instead. He wasn't alone in an alley surrounded by unruly and dangerous teenagers,he was in a public space with plenty of witnesses who could have made sure those kids got what was coming to them. Instead he is a fucking idiot that allowed this situation to spin madly out of control.

I'll never understand why people get so mad at the guys when you see a video like this. Did he continue on his violent rampage against the girl? One punch deserves HIM to be in jail? Even if the cops arrested the girl do you think she'll be in as much trouble as he will? Everyone always tells me to turn the other cheek, but much like hockey or football, the "instigater" never gets in trouble. When you are shown that you can troll forever without repercussions it makes the game and players act differently. (Like the internet) I'm not saying that he was right, but I'd be willing to bet that she was running her mouth, knowing that the law would be on her side in case, (much like rules in a sports game) and kept up her verbal barrage/punch him first. I highly doubt a 29 yr old male would start an argument with a girl, because as males we have to fear the cops being involved because girls have the power to cry wolf anytime they want and rarely get punished for it. Why do we constantly insist on calling the police for everything, like running to your parents for every single problem.... (But don't hit girls is a good, general rule)

I'm not defending what he did, and I don't hit women as a general rule (it's a can of worms I'd rather not go anywhere near), but where do you draw the line?

She assaults him, and he's got 50 pounds on her. OK, so he has to walk away? What if he has 30 pounds on her? 10 pounds? 1 pound? At which point can he stand his ground when physically assaulted? Even setting weight aside, if he's 6' 2", and she's 5' 3", should he walk away, even if she has 100 lbs on him? This is something I actually witnessed myself - a lardass woman at a coffee shop, easily 300-330 lbs, smacked a guy across the face with her ham-hand, and the guy was a good foot taller but 180 lbs at most. Would it have been OK for him to smack her right back?

You could also take gender out of this equation - a 5' 9" 170 lb man punches you in the face, you're 5' 9" also, but 220 lbs (overweight), do you have the obligation to walk away? Just because you have 50 lbs on him? Even though he's punching you in the face?

I also can't support the argument that he wasn't in any danger, a female friend of a friend broke a guy's nose at a party while drunk and horsing around. I didn't see it, just the bloody aftermath.

The way I see it, if someone chooses to engage you in a physical confrontation, it's up to you on what you want to do to address the situation. Their rights on the subject are forfeit once they initiated the aggression. The spectrum of force needs to be reasonable - I'm not suggesting the slaps him and he takes her to the pavement and gives her a steel-toe-booted curb party, but punch for punch? Not out of bounds, I'd say. I bet next time she'll remember what it felt like to get punched in the face and keep her hands to herself.

The reason that you never hit a woman is considered moral has to do with the physical inequalities between the genders. There are exceptions, and everybody is unique, but generally speaking men are bigger and stronger due to the effect of testosterone or it's absence in the human body.

In this particular case, this guy was at least a foot taller and probably twice her weight. From a physics perspective it was no competition. Generally speaking we humans have decided that it is immoral to engage in fights with someone who is severely disadvantaged in the fight. The individual who was female was at an extreme disadvantage in this fight, this is why the individual who was male didn't lay her out when she kicked him. He should have restrained himself, because she posed no real that to him.

That being said, she played the sexism card expecting to be able to hit him without risk, and got exactly what she deserved.

Tldr: It was immoral for him to hit her not because of the gender difference but because of the size difference, but it immoral of her to take advantage of gender roles. Justice goes to her getting knocked the fuck out.
