So? How is that different than guys? Guys care about looks (face, body) as their number one criteria. Why shouldn't women? Caring about height is no more superficial than caring about how pretty a girl is. Girls who aren't pretty are born that way through no fault of their own, just like guys who are born short. The difference is avoiding short men often has nothing to do with the way they look. The idea of a short man is unappealing, not the actual physical short man.

Women have often have no problem being physically attracted to a short man, but won't go near him because he isn't, for example, "protective" enough. Is that because he's ugly or because he's short? The two aren't even related. It's because he doesn't fit the idea of what a tall man is.

They would be physically attracted to him if he were taller. But he's not. It's like this. Imagine a pretty girl, but she has a couple giant warts on her face. It's harsh, but being short is like that. "Too bad ... Her face is so pretty ... Otherwise." Same for a short guy. He could be attractive, but only ignoring his limited proportions. His face could be attractive (just like wart girl's body or her face minus the warts), but he's not physically attractive enough overall.

That is harsh lol. But look at it this way: this girl will have a hard time because people find giant face warts to be gross. That isn't the same as I won't feel petite enough or what would my friends think. The reason given is often totally unrelated to physical attraction, and this leads me to believe height and physical attraction aren't as linked as most people assume. I'm not saying being short isn't simply unattractive to some women, but I firmly believe that, for many women, that isn't the whole story.

Sorry, but you're wrong. If women were physically attracted to short guys , then being short wouldn't be a disadvantage in the dating market. Your delusion that women wont date short guys simply because they worried about what their friends would think or simply because it would raise their relative height is like wart girl thinking guys reject her just for reasons of social embarrassment. Sorry dude. Being short makes the person unattractive ... Like the actual person ... Not the "idea."

Cited? You have a scientific study you want to show me? I'm pretty sure I can "cite" women stating that they are not as attracted to short men. Guys also won't date a warty girl because their friends wouldn't be impressed. If a guy says that, that doesn't mean it's the only reason he wouldn't date her.

"being short makes the person unattractive" ...nice generalization. Maybe the majority of women prefer taller men over shorter men (which I believe has to do with a combination of culture and biology, not just one), but that doesn't automatically make every short man unattractive.

And height is relative. A 5'7 man could be considered "too short to date" by most women in Scandinavia, but be the perfect height somewhere else like Mexico. So it's not exactly the same as the wart thing in my opinion... not a black and white issue

A short guy isn't necessary unattractive , but if he's below average height for his culture, then most women would perceive him to be less attractive than if he were average height or taller.

My comment outlines how I linked just his face to several friends for unbiased opinions (without them knowing why, or how tall he is), and on average they rated him as more than an 8 out of 10.
