This is fun!

I wrote over 11,000 lines of code by myself to make the website. There are no other significant developers (thanks to 2 other people though for particular contributions such as the bracket chat system -- I won't name them here for fear of associating their names with this petty squabble!)

This is a one-man-show. Yes, I have had other people help along the way. Gwop, Zep, many others. But let's face it. When a tournament is run, I'm the one who spends 8 hours answering questions ahead of time and making sure things run smoothly during.

Oh yeah, I'm also the one who pays out the prize pool money. That means, every week that I run two tournaments, I spend $40 of my own money. For you. For the community. I have a stack of used Hearthstone giftcards about 3 inches tall on my desk.

So for every tournament, I spend $20 and put in about 5-8 hours of my time. In addition to ALL the hours programming the entire website in the first place.

I've probably sunk over $2,000 in providing a great tournament setup and about 300 hours of my time over the past 8-9 months I've been doing this.

So for the people that I banned on Monday.... that's because you're the type of people that make my hobby not fun. If my hobby isn't fun, I won't do it. So instead of ruining it for everyone, I just remove people like you.

Luckily, I am not ESL or some other organization, I am just me. So when I encounter people like you, I don't put up with it.

There is no customer service department. There is a ban department.

Oh, and by the way!

I'm the only place on the internet that runs a true Arena style format every Sunday at 2pm and a true team format every Monday at 7:30pm

Come play! Or don't.

Dude I don't think he wants to talk. He wants to look in the mirror while he masturbates, and he's currently setting the Guinness world record.

Being a smug prick isn't making this better for you

"when I encounter people like you, I don't put up with it" So when people don't like you not putting something important into the rules and then disqualifying them for it, you act like a 12 year old? Why spend so long working on this just to ruin it by acting like this towards people?

Spoken like a true amateur.

The site is pretty much the same it has been from the start. Instead of investing time into the rating system or making the forum part of the website, time and money could've been put towards a more stable site. Every time there is a medium and decent size tournament the bracket lags and sometimes doesn't get displayed for a long period of time.

There is no Hearthstone Open without a community to support it. It's not the right thing to do to be rude to people who come to your site. Many people rather not play in a tournament one day of the week than have to deal with a rude admin who won't answer their questions or just call them stupid for not knowing the answer. If you think you're a one man show now, if you don't set your things straight and even acknowledge how much Gwop and whoever else on the admin team is helping you with then you will end up being a one man show. Not only do you not acknowledge your teams work but you put them in a spot which hurts their reputation by being associated with the site even though they've done nothing wrong and are trying to help you.

You've put in the time and money into this thing for so long but it can all just go away so easily because of how you're acting. If this is your hobby, running tournaments and supporting the scene, and a simple question ticks you off I am not sure you're in the right set of mind to continue doing this.

I am a moderator for Empeopled.com and manage their Hearthstone team. For a while THO has been a big part of our tournaments even though we were running fairly small 150-300 entry tournaments on average, some more some less; it varied really. While we were able to complete these events, I can confirm that there was consistently a questionable number of complications on the side of lagging, site not loading for hours at a time, and in some cases it was reported to me that the site admin was not responding or left for several days in bouts of rage. I am also in contact with several other coordinators and team managers who have experienced similar conditions and could also vouch but I will let them speak on their own terms if they wish to. Everything Bolt has said is true, he is not a liar and from my stand point, he is a respectable individual within the community.

While I do not speak on behalf of the individuals who rank above me on Empeopled.com, I feel it is important that we acknowledge the lack of responsibility that is being exhibited by this individual as a community. We should consider what has and hasn't happened, then move forward from that in a collective manner that shows some level of maturity. Either he is going to change his tune and adhere to what the general population wants from their tournament sites or he is going to be out numbered, out coded and quite frankly drowned in a sea of better alternatives, to which there are some already. There are even more on the way who I know for absolute fact can take his claim to fame niche of an arena style format and run with it to greater capacity whilst still respecting everyone in the community.

I have met many kind and generous people in this community over the past year and a half. My time interacting with Aleirri was pretty brief and I doubt she remembers me but she was absolutely a pleasure to work with and speak to. Speaking on behalf of myself and not empeopled.com or any of my peers, you should feel terrible for your response and the treatment of the players involved. Not just for this time but every time before that and something questionable arose. Every single time, to a documented point, you responded in this very same childlike manner. Please, grow up. It does not need to be this way.

I would also like to add that we have since moved on to working with Hearthmind in our most recent efforts.

And yet you're not able put a rule change, you know, in the rules?
