Hearthstone's a real drama mine for some reason. I really need to fire up my account again to see if there's anything in the game insidiously causing this madness.

[–]Oxus007Recreationally Offended 77 ポイント78 ポイント  (3子コメント)

There's a lot of personalities that stream, and they are....unpolished. This leads to a lot of drama.

[–]jklharris 58 ポイント59 ポイント  (2子コメント)

The game's not as fast, and has a lot of downtime, so there's a LOT more opportunity for personalities to develop and come through. At least, that's my theory.

[–]bingren 23 ポイント24 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Yeah in LoL you always get the interesting personality stuff while they wait in queue. Not much time for personality in the middle of a game. Except for rage, there's always time for rage.

When they nerfed Undertaker they added a pulsing, low level frequency that will eventually cause popcorn to burst from most orifices. There have been some reports of butter but those haven't been confirmed.

Well, this is quite the crazy morning! Rest assured, we are as eager to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

We will do a full investigation on these accusations and report back once we have definitive conclusive evidence.

That said, while it may look circumstantially suspicious, we support Amy as we believe people are innocent until proven guilty.

She's been a valuable member of the team thus far and done everything we have asked of her.

At the moment, there are lots of moving parts to what is going on with Tempo Storm behind the scenes such as moving in our

Heroes team to their brand new gaming house, finalizing LOTA3 details, and expanding our site, but we will prioritize gathering as much data about this as possible and reporting what we find.

Fresh drama: guy claiming that he has spent about $ 5k on "her" buying gifts, pizza etc.

It's about $5k in total when you include pizzas I ordered for her, all of the gold cards she has, etc. Eventually, we started a long distance relationship, talking on the phone, kakao, etc. and I spent a fair amount of money on her as shown below: http://img42.com/1lKdZ[1]

[–]cyanidekatcancerkat. Officially high ranked in the cabal 72 ポイント73 ポイント  (23子コメント)

This redpiller will ''explain'' you why:

[–]TRPsubmitter 6 puntos an hour ago All I can say, is that as a Korean-American who lives in Korea and has had relationships/one night stands/flings and everything in between with Korean girls, it doesn't surprise me at all. Korean women are absolute experts at appearing to be innocent and using their femininity to their advantage (and why shouldn't they?). They're taught from a young age to do this and they are incredibly good at it. I know all of their tricks (working late in gangnam at vague/unnamed job and can't answer phone = room salon/massage girl likely). And I can't understate how many times even I have been surprised how the giggly little petite girl actually works part time giving handjobs and wants to do anal with me, all while living with her parents and taking care of her puppy and then going to her nail art appointment the next day followed by sticker photos. So take a random western dude with no experience and I can totally understand how they'd get duped. Korean women's greatest weapon is validating insecure mens' masculinity. They shower affection/flirtations to make men feel good. They show "cuteness" (애교) and get the guy hooked, yet they turn around and scream at their coworker and curse on the phone to their friend. Koreans call this "two face". Despite all this, the strong femininity of Korean women is what makes them so attractive. So you deal with it because the reward outweighs the risk...but only if you know what you're doing, which doesn't involve buying them gifts or $5k in loans.

The most I'd do to keep up with what's current is listening to NPR while driving.

On the other hand, finding and reading about this shit is simultaneously both giving me a massive headache but it keeps dragging me back because I need to read just how fucking socially inept and sadly hilarious these people are. That thread you mentioned...jesus christ, man, my grandfather would beat the shit out of me from his grave if I treated a woman like these douchenozzles theorize they could.

Drama aside, this is pretty serious if true. MagicAmy was hired to a prominent Hearthstone team Tempostorm (led by infamous Hearthstone personality/streamer/salt mine Reynad) which would make this fraud.

Edit: Also, MagicAmy was getting to be very well known. She has 11,000 or so followers on Twitch and a subscribe button, without having streamed.

The Hearthstone subreddit isn't the most... stable of places. Combined with already unpopular mods shitting themselves, expect more to come.

edit: Statement from FrodaN, PR manager of TempoStorm:

"Well, this is quite the crazy morning! EDIT 2: Guy claims to have been in a relationship with MagicAmy, the plot thickens

EDIT 3: Old accounts on Facebook and Twitter belonging to the guy who's accused of being behind this have been deleted. I'm not going to link them due to privacy concerns.

EDIT 4: MagicAmy's Twitch is hosting other streamers. The title of MagicAmy's stream is "hey, don't sub to me, i'm obviously not real"

EDIT JOHNNY 5: Streamer JABLOL claims to have been scammed by MagicAmy, no details as of yet.

EDIT 6: I'm not sure if I can post this Daily Dot article...if mods want me to delete it please say and I will

Very relevant passage:

Additionally, one high-ranking source within ESL told the Daily Dot that Hyerim Lee twice changed her reason for withdrawing from the ESL Legendary Series. She first claimed that she had no passport, then that she didn't have a visa, and then finally that her parents were not allowing her to attend. That story differs from her claim on Reddit that visa issues were exclusively to blame.

EDIT 7: Reynad, creator of Tempostorm, tweets this saying he can't stream until the Amy thing is sorted.

I'm off for now, hopefully someone else keeps the updates happening.

LAST EDIT FROM ME, BED CALLS: Oh shit. The founder of another game called Prismata (which sponsored Hearthstone tourneys, and got several Hearthstone streamers to play their game in another tournament) has fresh allegations. MagicAmy, whoever they may be, will not be getting out of this one easily at all.

[–]big_swinging_dicksI support the war, but not the troops 46 ポイント47 ポイント  (11子コメント)

How can tempostorm not know if one of their team is real or not?!

[–]FabulousSecretP0wers 71 ポイント72 ポイント  (5子コメント)

MagicAmy is from South Korea. They haven't flown in for any tournaments (they were due to recently, but "visa issues" stopped them. Apparently however, multiple reasons were given). There have been bits of gossip and hearsay from popular streamers: one streamer (kitKatz) told another (hafu) that when they met her, she was not as she seemed. People have met and talked to a girl, but what remains to be seen if it just one person using the name MagicAmy. Bizarre situation all around.

edit: Ok I should clarify: there is a girl, as they have been seen in tourney cams.

[–]Johnhong 86 ポイント87 ポイント  (2子コメント)

People have seen her on live cam. Many popular streamers have even voice chatted with her over skype. No one doubts the girl is real. It's the fact that the guy is playing for her which is the problem.

[–]FabulousSecretP0wers 12 ポイント13 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yes you're right, I clarified. Brain fart.

[–]Strich-9 7 ポイント8 ポイント  (1子コメント)

How did they get known if they don't seem to play the game, stream or have any kind of stream?

[–]FabulousSecretP0wers 11 ポイント12 ポイント  (0子コメント)

I believe they were active members in several streamer chats. Later, MagicAmy participated in tournaments and did well. Joined TempoStorm, wrote lots of good articles on the meta. Occasionally commented on the subreddit. i'm probably missing stuff so idk.

[–]mrpeach32 9 ポイント10 ポイント  (0子コメント)

I think the question is if she is being coached through her games or not.

[–]Aflimaconmore like scrubreddit amirite 13 ポイント14 ポイント  (0子コメント)

The reason she has a sub button is most likely because of Tempo Storm's Twitch sponsorship. Unless she had it beforehand, that is, in which case I have no explanation.

[–]k9rosie 4 ポイント5 ポイント  (17子コメント)

How do you compete in a Hearthstone team?

[–]FabulousSecretP0wers 20 ポイント21 ポイント  (14子コメント)

I believe the way it worked was that they practiced together and stuff. There's another team, led by popular streamer Amaz, called Archon. They don't play together, as such. It's... a little silly.

[–]admiralorbiter 9 ポイント10 ポイント  (6子コメント)

I haven't been paying attention to the pro scene in a long time, but isn't it sorta like starcraft? Where teams play against each other, 1v1, so its basically a best out of 5 situation. I could be pretty wrong, but that is what I always assumed.

[–]hour_glass 3 ポイント4 ポイント  (0子コメント)

They did do that in early Heathstone. They stopped that 6ish months I wanna say.

[–]FabulousSecretP0wers 9 ポイント10 ポイント  (4子コメント)

The only two major Hearthstone teams are Archon and TempoStorm. TSM has some streamers too. I'm going to be honest, I'm not too into the Hearthstone professional stream, but I haven't really heard of teams going against each other like that. Of course members of different teams go against each other in tourneys, but there's no organised team v team.

edit: Cloud 9 are a team too.

[–]admiralorbiter 8 ポイント9 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Ah, thanks for the clarification. So they are pretty much just for practice and pr.

Sharing decks, ideas, travel expenses, sponsorship, support staff, etc. If you get knocked out you help teammates with what decks they ban/ pick order of their decks vs their next opponent.

(ง ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)ง Forsen, now that we're opening our eyes about MagicAmy, we're beginning to think someone else was using your computer when you did the gay test, you're obviously 100% (ง ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)ง

I sexually Identify as an Internet Female. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of getting free money from desperate guys all over the world. People say to me that a person being a Fake Girl Online is Impossible and I'm fucking retarded but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon install twitch chat, sub buttons and donations on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me "Magic Amy" and respect my right to not be hit on by silly boys. If you can't accept me you're a feminophobe and need to check your e-privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

"Reynad grunts and sighs after finally managing to finish inside of MagicAmy after numerous pre-mature e***tions. He lights a cig while laying in bed. "Was that as good for you as it was for me, MagicAmy?" Reynad asks. "I'm not MagicAmy," replies the Canadian. As Reynad recoils in horror, the Canadian smirks. "It seems you've just become legendary."

MagicAmy is Reynad. Easy to decipher: "Magic" refers to his past, and AMY stands for Andrey Motherf... Yanyuk.

Magicamy is an individual living two lives. By day it is a professional Hearthstone playa and by night a humble swedish dude known as Forsen. Forsen has always questioned his sexuality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Forsen finds himself targeted by le reddit army when he is contacted by Reynad and Frodan, a legendary *** duo and terrorists to our orifice. Reynad and Frodan awaken Magicamy, a ravaged wasteland of pure Asian kawaiiness where most of Forsens pepperonis have been captured

I know nothing about this drama, but I do find it moderately funny that the name MagicAmy, is sorta close to "Amazing Amy", the book series that the Main Character in Gone Girl is the ficticious inspiration for.

(Spoilers Below)

And it just so happens that the real Amy is nothing like the children's book character, and is in fact an incredibly skilled Con Artist. Someone call /r/conspiracy, because this is just the type of not-at-all coincidental calling card that all ne'er-do-wells leave behind!

Look, it's common knowledge that Blizzard wanted to buy out Wizards of the Coasts' intellectual property so they have been attempting to snipe Magic the Gathering for years. This "Hearthstone" hoax is just their latest attempt. Everyone knows that there is no such thing. The game doesn't actually exist. It's an entire PR department that is just sitting typing in the forums making it look like it's a real thing. Take this over to HailCorporate where it belongs.

      No. This is.

      Text for when it's removed:

People generally have strong views about Reynad. The key point of the following exposition is that Reynad likes to argue that the Eleventh Commandment is, “Thou shalt erect a shrine of officialism”. Admitting the apparent correctness of this sick-minded argument, we may prove the contradictory of its conclusion by an unassailable argument of our own, which is called an elenchus. My elenchus begins with the observation that Reynad commonly appoints ineffective people to important positions. He then ensures that these people stay in those positions because that makes it easy for Reynad to egg on negative externalities in the form of evasion, collusion, and corruption.

I predict that by the end of the decade, people will generally agree that I love (and by “love,” I mean “hate”) it when Reynad says that people don't mind having their communities turned into war zones. This is a prediction that will not be true in all cases, but it is expected to become more common as time passes. If I chose to do so I could write exclusively about his prurient prophecies and never be lacking for material. Nonetheless, I'd rather spend some time discussing how the devastation caused by Reynad's bruta fulmina is entropic, but it does not have to be inevitable. That is, if we are vigilant in securing livelihoods and a better world for all generations we will be able to sway people towards the realization that I obviously warrant that there are in fact many people who possess the intelligence, wisdom, talent, and ability to champion the force of goodness against the greed of silly thieves. My goal is to locate those people and encourage them to help me convince stuporous, sinister nithings to stop supporting Reynad and tolerating his reports. Perhaps in a parallel universe, public opinion is a reliable indicator of what's true and what isn't. In our universe, however, Reynad's press releases are of use to nobody and nothing, without meaning, without educational purpose, without ethos, surviving on the basis of a traditionally fostered prejudice. Concordantly, one might say that Reynad wants to keep us helpless and afraid. While none of us need to be so fearful, we are. These fears make it difficult for us to build a coalition of stouthearted people devoted to stopping Reynad. This is why is critical that we talk about how listening to him talk about stamping out the last vestiges of academic freedom, scholarly autonomy, and freedom of research and teaching in our nation's universities is like watching a colonial power laying out a plan to force its language, culture, laws, religion, and ideals on a subject people. The put-upon natives in this case are those of us bold enough to state in public that Reynad wants us to feel sorry for the disorganized worrywarts who kill the goose bearing the golden egg. I avouch we should instead feel sorry for their victims, all of whom know full well that there are two related questions in this matter. The first is to what extent Reynad has tried to acquire power and use it to indoctrinate macabre beggars. The other is whether or not I wouldn't judge Reynad's flacks too harshly. They're just cannon fodder for Reynad's plot to deny the legitimacy of those who draw a picture of what we conceive of under the word “superincomprehensibleness”.

Reynad has so frequently lied about how he has his moral compass in tact that some weaker-minded people are starting to believe it. We need to explain to such people that Reynad is obviously under the influence of LSD or some other hallucinogenic. Why else would he aver that there should be publicly financed centers of elitism? If you think that people find his unrelenting, over-the-top hostility rather refreshing, then think again. It is easy for the public at large to dismiss combative pontificators as depraved scumbags. Reynad's mind has limited horizons. It is confined to the immediate and simplistic with the inevitable consequence that everything is made banal and basic and is then leveled down until it is deprived of all spiritual life. Before you declare me savage, let me assert that Reynad's helpmeets say, “All literature that opposes collaborationism was forged by the most lackadaisical desperados I've ever seen.” Yes, I'm afraid they really do talk like that. It's the only way for them to conceal that Reynad speaks like a true defender of the status quo—a status quo, we should not forget, that enables him to reward those who knowingly or unknowingly play along with his ethics while punishing those who oppose them.

If you're the type who dares to think for yourself then you've probably already determined that Reynad says that chauvinism is a be-all, end-all system that should be forcefully imposed upon us. That is the most despicable lie I have ever heard in my entire life. I think I know why so many jejune polluters take the focus off the real issues. It's because Reynad has whipped them into a blind frenzy by telling them that a totalitarian dictatorship is the best form of government we could possibly have. Unfortunately for Reynad, the ground truth is that his latest diatribe is Reynad-style lunacy at its very finest. Every despicable word of that diatribe paints a perfect picture of Reynad's hysteria and reveals that Reynad feels that it's inappropriate to teach children right from wrong. What planet is he from? The planet Closed-minded? This is an important question because Reynad is exceedingly batty, hotheaded, venom-spouting, shameless, quarrelsome, bookish, self-indulgent, naive, brutish, and treacherous. Sorry for the synathroesmus, but he is trying hard to convince a substantial number of bossy jobbernowls to unfurl the Marxism-oriented flag of Zendicism. He presumably believes that the “hundredth-monkey phenomenon” will spontaneously incite ribald sleaze merchants to behave likewise. The reality, however, is that Reynad avouches that laws are meant to be broken. While that happens to be pure fantasy from the world of make-believe, one important fact to consider is that when he was first found provoking terrible, total, universal, and merciless destruction, I was scared. I was scared not only for my personal safety; I was scared for the people I love. And now that Reynad is planning to silence critical debate and squelch creative brainstorming, I'm terrified.

Reynad recently wrote a Strategic Demagogism Plan. If you ever read it, you'll see that it documents Reynad's intent to work hand-in-glove with lickerish grifters. Shortly thereafter, Reynad wrote a Strategic Sadism Plan, which is all about wrecking our country, derailing our civilization, and threatening the human race with extinction. Reynad is apparently fond of strategizing. It's also rather apparent that I claim that the best way to overcome misunderstanding, prejudice, and hate is by means of reason, common sense, clear thinking, and goodwill. Reynad, in contrast, thinks that everyone who scrambles aboard the Reynad bandwagon is guaranteed a smooth ride. The conclusion to draw from this conflict of views should be obvious: Many members of Reynad's peuplade believe that Reynad's ignorance is just as good as our knowledge. Even worse, almost all of Reynad's apparatchiks believe that bad things “just happen” (i.e., they're not caused by Reynad himself). (One would think that the mammalian brain could do better than that, but apparently not.) My point is that Reynad likes to quote all of the saccharine, sticky moralisms about “human rights” and the evils of Bonapartism. But as soon as we stop paying attention, he invariably instructs his epigones to use every conceivable form of diplomacy, deception, pressure, coercion, bribery, treason, and terror to remake the map of the world into a Reynad-friendly checkerboard of puppet regimes and occupation governments. Then, when someone notices, the pattern repeats from the beginning. Though this game may seem perverse beyond belief to any sane individual it makes perfect sense in light of his supercilious, goofy philosophies. Okay, there's no reason for me to be frightful, so I'll leave you with this concept: I will dedicate the rest of my life to my efforts to pave the way for people of every sex, race, and socioeconomic status to fulfill their own spiritual destiny.

I've been following this on /r/hearthstone basically since it began. What really gets me, how is she supposed to prove that she isn't multiple people? Whatever she does seems like it will just be countered with "Oh the guy just isn't in the room" or "she just isn't showing the guy's identity" etc etc.

The fact she is a pathological liar or irresponsible aside, doesn't it seem like rather than proving she isn't one person someone should try proving she is in fact multiple. Her not streaming or going to events is hardly evidence of her having multiple identities. Some people don't like their identities posted all over the internet, we know the girl is real at this point people have spoken to her on skype and played with her and stuff.

This is the same community that can't go a week without some sort of huge scandal. Every tournament turns into witch-hunts against cheaters, or how X person didn't deserve to be there, or X other scandal. Sorry /r/hearthstone but you lost any trust a long time ago, I would like some actual proof this time other than the words of one guy who only had circumstantial evidence.
