And if you remove spam, why is the spam users reported and discussed over a week ago still there? If you ban those that harass and threaten other users, why are YOU still a mod? If you take requests through modmail, why are you still the only mod?

Did you notice that the same discussion post has been stickied at the top for a month? Have you noticed all the posts there now are pitiful because all the users that wanted actual discussion had to make a new subreddit just so they could have active moderation?

Do you even WATCH the show anymore, Nick? Or are you just someone that's so starved for attention he can't bear the thought of relinquishing power to a subreddit he doesn't even want?

You don't have to be a "fan club president", you just have to find mods willing to do the jobs you won't do while you're busy getting into stupid arguments elsewhere on reddit. You don't even have to give away the subreddit to do that. The creator of a community can bring in new mods and set permissions for what they're allowed to do. You could have 50 people as mods just for spam and stickying posts. You could have mods just for policing spoilers. You wouldn't have to do anything.

But you're so stuck on mod power giving you the validation you're clearly not receiving out in your regular life, you don't care that the subreddit's a mess, just as long as you don't have to do any actual work or share mod power.

It's embarrassing. And since your account is eight years old I can also assume you're over the age of 15. There's no excuse for your profoundly childish behavior, you petty, selfish little brat.

THEN WHY ARE YOU A MOD??

Because one day I thought to check if there was a /r/supernatural. There was. It was owned by someone else, the topic was ghost stories and ouiji boards. It was practically abandoned, I asked if I could have it.

The original owner gave it to me, I changed the topic.

That's "why". It's a simple fucking story.

You came to the subreddit with some strange ideas of what a subreddit should be, and what a mod should be... but I didn't conform to those expectations. And somehow, you think you own the subreddit and that you should be able to bully me into either leaving, or becoming whatever the fuck it is that you think I should be.

I refuse.

Part of being a mod is helping to build a community.

Have you ever considered that maybe you're not the community that I want? There was a thread yesterday about people's favorite episodes, and something like 95% claimed they liked the shark-jumping episode best.

Most of you people would be happier with homoerotic fan fiction. Go elsewhere for it.

And yet all of my detractors wouldn't hesitate to ban me if I were to give them mod status and remove my own. Maybe I'm not the child, maybe it's you guys. After all, we're talking about a tv show that mostly appeals to teenagers who like it more for the Whedonesque one-liners and mugging for the camera than for the story.
