Since when are beans of any kind keto friendly? Am I missing something? Google says that a 1/2 cup of beans is going to be 13g of carbs, which should be enough to kick anybody out of keto.

If I'm wrong, please let me know. Beans would make good filler for me, I just always thought they were off limits for a low carb diet

It's different for different people, I'm sure, but 13g of carbs would not kick me out of keto. I aim for anything under 50g and I'm all good.

its actually 15 but keeping it under 20 :D just eat under 20 and you stay in keto!

Technically speaking no they are not good but if op has been eating them and still losing it seems ok for them.

Speaking for myself, 13g in a single meal wouldn't knock me out of ketosis. I've been on keto for about 3 years now so I know my limits. I discovered that 40g in a day will kick me out, so anything under that is fair game for me. Hell, I even use dark molasses in tiny quantities to flavor some dishes (it's at ~20g per tbsp) and I was able to lose all the weight I needed to, no problem. Now I'm just maintaining.

I shoot for under 50 carbs a day and have been losing weight very consistently (16 pounds in 5 weeks). I am also very athletically active so that likely helps but still.

Beans are theoretically not keto-friendly because of the amount of carbs that it has (in this case, 13g) so I would avoid it entirely.

Might be black soybeans, they're low carb. I've not had them though so not 100% sure.
