Okay, so I made a post regarding the name calling in response to one of your asks, and long story short, now antixhiccstrid has basically painted a target on my head. How do you usually deal with this?

I got home from work last night, saw slurs being thrown around on that thread, and simply blocked all notifications of it.  Whatever it descended into, I wash my hands of it.  I defend Astrid’s character and help people see what the movie laid out but didn’t show, I don’t get into petty name calling matches over shipping.  As soon as I saw them lose control, I had no interest in any attempts at conversation.  Apparently, neither did they. 

I had no issue with that kid.  Differing opinions mean nothing to me. I didn’t mind that there was an anti-hiccstrid blog—I think exploring other pairings is good and I think exploring what people don’t like about pairings is good.  But there’s a certain element of maturity and thoughtfulness that’s completely absent.  It’s like they just want to hurt people.

Someone (possibly just them, sending themselves asks) has it out for me—creating distorted messages about what I said, lying about what I believe in, just to get a reaction. Or create a string of reactions.  It’s completely asinine. 

Fans who slur without reason cannot be reasoned with.  Put them on ignore.  Don’t react to them.  Just cut it out like a bad mole.
