Intel to partner with more IT players for IoT opportunities

In addition to existing partnerships with Amazon, IBM, Eurotech and General Electric (GE), Intel is preparing to team up with more IT firms such as AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, SAP and Microsoft to expand into the Internet of Things (IoT) industry in 2015, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
これまでの、Amazon／IBM／Eurotech／General Electric (GE) とのパートナーシップに加えて、Intel は 2015年における IoT 展開を促進するために、その提携先を AT&T／Verizon／Cisco／SAP／Microsoft などに拡大していく計画だという情報が、上流サプライ･チェーンから伝わってきている。

So far, most first-tier IT players such as Microsoft, Intel, Qualcomm, ARM and Google, are preparing themselves for the IoT market and Intel has been playing an active role in helping Taiwan build its smart city infrastructure. It has also cooperated with Taiwan’s telecom carrier Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) to develop IoT and cloud computing applications, the sources said.
これまでのところ、Microsoft／Intel／Qualcomm／ARM／Google といった IT 業界のトップ･プレーヤーたちは、それぞれの内部で IoT マーケットのための準備を進めている。その中でも Intel は、Taiwan におけるスマート･シティ基盤を構築するうえで、積極的な役割を果たしてきた。それは、Taiwan のテレコム･キャリアである Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) との協調による、IoT およびクラウド･コンピューティングのアプリケーション開発でもあると、情報筋は語っている。
Intel has also unveiled many solutions for its IoT platform including Atom E3800 series processors, a smart gateway solution integrated with McAfee and Wind River software, and Quark SoC X1000. Intel has also recruited Asustek Computer’s subsidiary Aaeon, Gigabyte Technology, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Advantech and Adlink to join the development of the smart gateway, the sources noted.
その一方で Intel は、IoT プラットフォームのための、数多くのソリューションを発表している。 そこには、Atom E3800 シリーズ･プロセッサ／McAfee および Wind River software とのスマート･ゲートウェイの統合／Quark SoC X1000 などが含まれる。また、Intel は、スマート･ゲートウェイの開発に参加するよう、Asustek Computer の子会社である Aaeon／Gigabyte Technology／Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS)／Advantech／Adlink などに呼びかけていると、情報筋は述べている。
As for Intel’s roadmap for the IoT market, in addition to Haswell EP/EN series products, the CPU giant will also release 14nm Broadwell/Skylake and Braswell-based products and will replace its existing Quark SoC X1000 series processors with new Liffey Island product family in 2015, the sources said. The Puma 6 Family will also be upgraded to Puma 7 Family.
Intel の IoT マーケット･ロードマップだが、Haswell EP/EN プロダクトに加えて、この CPU ジャイアントは、14nm の Broadwell/ Skylake および Braswell ベースのプロダクトをリリースする。そして、2015年には、新たな Liffey Island プロダクト･ファミリーにより、既存の Quark SoC X1000 シリーズ･プロセッサを置き換えると、情報筋は発言している。さらに、Puma 6 Family も、Puma 7 Family にアップグレードされる。
As for applications, Intel is aggressively improving its software and has been cooperating with app designers to expand related development. Intel will also launch a new solution to replace its existing Edison module and has recently unveiled its button-size Curie module for wearables.
アプリケーションに関しては、Intel は積極的にソフトウェアを改善しており、また、関連パートの開発を拡大するために、アプリ･デザイナーたちと協調している。さらに Intel は、既存の Edison モジュールを置き換える新しいソリューションを立ち上げ、つい先日には、ウェアラブルのための Curie モジュールという、ボダン･サイズのプロダクトを発表している。
