What the fuck? Why are all these liberals actually trying to defend ISIS? It's disgusting

This isn't liberals. That is a sjw radical feminist site. Nobody I know liberal or conservative would even begin to defend ISIS.

Salon.com isn't just a radical feminist site, it's a mainstream liberal site. Just look at where it gets posted on reddit.

Welcome to Liberalism.

For a group that keeps accusing conservatives of living in the past, the left is awfully obsessed with crimes that happened in the past.

So two wrongs make a right now? Ah, the grand display of far-left group self-hatred and moral equivalency.

Yes, it was hard to get back to sleep the night we heard the news of the Jordanian pilot’s horrendous end. ISIS be damned! I thought. But with the next breath I could only think that our own barbarians did not have to wait at any gate. They were insiders. Home grown. Godly. Our neighbors, friends, and kin. People like us.

I think jumping to the conclusion that this is a defense of ISIS is too much of a black-and-white response (no pun intended). I think the author is simply taking a moment to remember that we do a lot of dehumanizing in war, and that we, too, have done some terrible things - but we don't think of ourselves as monsters. I think the author is trying to wrestle with an interesting philosophical point here - that history tends to repeat itself, and maybe if we view ISIS as human beings like us, we can better understand their motives, and better fight their atrocities.

I like to look at what they actually said which is that before we decry the barbarity of that group we should look at our own history. That's a pretty shameful thing to say in my opinion since it essentially says who are we to criticize.

They are just following Obamas crusade talking point.

It literally means nothing yet gives something for liberals to gnaw into.

Because decrying isis is literally the same thing as promoting the klan? You do know you could decry the evils of both yes?
