AllI was one of the people chanting “Melee!” after Sm4sh GFs. This is what I have to say. (self.smashbros)

Bottom line--people were tired, people had work the next day, people were worried about their favorite players’ energy levels, people who had nothing against Sm4sh were just excited for Melee.

That's literally all you had to say.

They forced Melee players to sit through Smash 4, completely disregarding their feelings and overall well being. The TO's need to be held accountable for how fucking horrible that is.

I dont know if you live in new jersey but my life was quite literally on the line. The tournament went way past the scheduled time and my car is terrible in the snow. Say what you will about either community but the TOs were responsible for a lot of built up frustration from people who werent even sure they could get home safely if smash 4 took any longer.

The hyperbole is getting fucking ridiculous. I'm on the melee side of all of these arguments but jesus christ, the TO's are not responsible for the winter storm nor are they responsible for your shitty car.

The TO's made the mistake of giving sm4sh too lenient a ruleset, but I don't see how they could have just booted sm4sh off the stage because it was taking too long.

As a whole, many matches for all games took far too long to start, and Smash 4 shouldn't have had Bo5 for loser's quarters.

That's the ruleset. And I agree that the TO's made a terrible one. But it's the rules they used and after they realized that they made a mistake, it was too late. They couldn't kick the sm4shers off stage.

Does the snow not start until 3 AM? If everything had gone according to schedule, Melee still would have ended at midnight. You have no way of knowing if anything would have been any safer. If it really gets that dangerous that you could die, you always have the option to go home early and watch it on stream like the rest of us.

Which would have easily been late enough to get back home safely had the tournament gone according to schedule.

But it would have been okay to force Smash 4 players to sit through Melee, disregarding their feelings and overall well being? Just be thankful the tournament even happened. The TO's worked their asses off and had to work around one of the worst things that could have happened to them. Show some respect.
