Many residents who shovel out a space on public streets feel entitled to blocking said space off with chairs, boxes, etc, when they leave for the day. This is illegal of course, but remove these blockades and you'll often have your car keyed, or worse.

On my block there are people who will clear out multiple spaces, build a wall around them, and then a single entrance so they can park several cars at the end of the day. We hate these people. The city has bigger shit to worry about, so clear out a space for yourself and a neighbor and help end the cycle.
