Only time that patrons of the Carlton have ever got their money's worth.

Poor people, probably thought the reflective glass still worked at night...

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 13 ポイント14 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yea someone pointed this out in the last thread. Such a rookie mistake. Everyone remember one way glass is reversed at night!

I know I did at one point. As it happens, standing in front of a window picking your nose while talking on the phone is a perfect opportunity for coworkers and others outside to take your picture. Good thing I didn't scratch my balls, I guess.

Ohhhh shit this makes so much more sense now. Man, poor people - silly mistake that will really hurt them.

Haha, fair call..

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 16 ポイント17 ポイント  (24子コメント)

Gutted that they'll lose their jobs. It was sweet free advertising for rabobank

lol, they hopefully won't, the whole flying the corporate team into CHCH for damage control seems a bit overkill though.

Probably a bunch of old letches looking to eyeball the girl involved...

You're probably not even half wrong......

Probably a bunch of old letches

Probably a bunch of old executives looking for an excuse to fly to Christchurch for the day and escape the Auckland office.

hell I would

It's weird how everyone's going on about their jobs when the guy is going to lose his family and the girl will lose her fiance. Mind you I don't have a ton of sympathy for them.

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 2 ポイント3 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Where did these details of said family and fiance come from?

The herald article reported it.

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 3 ポイント4 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Haha shame fucking retards.

They were employed by Marsh Ltd. who rent office space in the building.

I hope Marsh Ltd isn't too harsh on them. Hopefully just a warning, not dismissal. Dismissal would seem a bit mean-spirited.

Still, the tea-room gossip might be more painful.

True, probably more so for the woman than the man.

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 3 ポイント4 ポイント  (1子コメント)

So? The photos had rabobank in them. Advertising doesn't work by implied association.

Yeah but the vast majority would have heard about this through the media, not simply the pictures, and the media was very clear they were Marsh employees

If either of them were married or had partners, they could lose more than their jobs.

Who gives a shit if that's the case, they shouldn't have been cheating on their partners

I think the comment was about how their partners lives might be ruined as well!

IMHO their lives are already ruined if they are with cheating partners.

And I read the comment that they wouldn't just lose their jobs, but their marriages too.

Horrible way for their partners to find out tho, eh?

Don't doubt that at all, but personally, it would be better than not finding out at all.

Really? Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Well, not bliss, but at least you don't know to be hurt.

Everyone gets caught eventually, and it's much more painful when you suspect it may have been a long term thing.

[–]My_usrname_of_choice 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

That's not my goddamn problem.

Stuff, the champion of one sentence reporting. That was a wall of text that I couldn't read :(

I feel sorry for them having pics plastered all over the place including Facebook and Twitter.

You feel sorry for them, but in the same breath, having the lights on at street level.. You have to wonder if it was deliberate (hence the 'caught'.)

I also really hope it was all above board, and wasn't an affair, that's perhaps the worst way for an affair to come to light..

not street level. First floor.

Ah, thank you for the clarification.

Still clearly (judging by the photos) visible to outside though..

Yeah the photos are (I think) from the first floor of the boozer directly across the road.....

search

me too, if anyone could find the link to the full set, I would be even more disgusted.

It would be very disgusting.

Wonder if they have significant others? Now that would be messy!

A comment on the article would lead you to believe the guy did. Worst possible way to be caught if that is the case..

My mate is in the corporate insurance gossip tank sent me this -

"Update. She was recently engaged and was his secretary. She's 26 and he is like 50 and he has a 19 year old daughter haha"

Oh. dear....... God this gets worse and worse for them..

Sounds more like they fucking deserve it now.

I find it a tad suspicious that there was no nudity in the pics. I'm guessing its a PR stunt.

I'm sure they'll be somewhere in imgur.. I would search but on a work machine. :D

Someone should have tried to let the couple know..

What? And spoil the show?

If it was the second floor as mentioned earlier, can't exactly knock on the window..

Throw a rock? Ring? Buzzer on the door? All unlikely but worth a shot..

Perhaps, we can but wonder really. Probably bystander effect too, everyone else thought everyone else would do something. (if you get what I mean?)

TBH I think they're exhibitionists anyway. Unless you are completely blinded by love (see what I did there?) you would know everyone can see you.

So, where can I find the most HD video? :D

If I find it I'll post it! Edit: found this, just from the news http://youtu.be/21btvNAFn98

Aww man. The blur. Lol.

It's just sex, yes it was in the workplace but so what? It's awful that this couple had their pictures put online without their consent. I wish the media would not shame people for having sex.

yes it was in the workplace but so what?

Do people genuinely think its ok for coworkers to use the office as a place to fuck after hours?

Only if you're the mayor and you're using the town hall. Then it's fine.

Even so, if I was the mayor I'd have some sort of private dressing/bathroom built into my office behind a secret panel. You know, for common decency and all.

Wouldn't bother me, in fact it would be suprising if it never happened in most workplaces. Hotel rooms are pricey.

It wouldn't bother me at all if my colleagues were having some fun at work after hours.

So long as it isnt on my desk, fair play

Why not? I wouldn't mind if my coworkers did and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind if they knew I banged my gf in my office on the odd occasion.

As long as its not a hospital or restaurant then it's really not that bad. Anyway which is worse, having sex in your workplace or taking pictures of naked adults and posting them online for the world to see?

This kinda stuff just isn't newsworthy.

Or, you know, the morgue.

Yes.

[–]Potassium39Right-wing nutjob 7

I couldn't care less if they're not making a mess.

I do

why wouldn't it be?

It's not that they were having sex, it's having sex with the lights on beside a busy pub.

Bear in mind cellphone camera's aren't the best low-light cameras, so for the some of the clips to be such good quality one can only presume they were lit up like a xmas tree.

If I were Rabobank, I'd be smiling at the free publicity. Their employees are only human after all.

Just their building, not their employees as I understand. But yes, free publicity regardless!

seems a bit shit for them to lose their jobs over it though, it was harmless

It was harmless until the name of the company was released, by the company. As mentioned earlier, they may have made it worse for themselves a bit.

A plane full of 300 people crashes and is never found. That news only lasted a week, I'm sure this will be forgotten by Wednesday. Really hope they don't get fired. And if they do, really keen to donate to the porn DVD kickstarter

Lasted a week? You must be a hermit.

I had never heard about Marsh Ltd or connected it with them in any way before I read this article and the comment from their CEO. Way to fucking go you dipshit - nobody knew it was your company, it was assumed it was Rabobank.

Now they will be chasing the two employees out of the company, because the CEO decided to confirm that it was actually Marsh. Bad choice by the couple of course, and they should expect the consequences, but the CEO could have swept it all under the rug. Dumb fuck.

It would have been extremely easy for the media to find out it wasn't Rabo. Do you honestly think a CEO is smarter by denying an obvious lie and then refusing to take responsibility for what his workers did? Because I'd think any CEO who did that was a crooked, dodgy moron. If he hadn't have done that then Rabo would have stated it wasn't them and then Marsh would look even worse and cowardly.

Why couldn't he have waited till it was publicly clear that it was Marsh?

Because letting another company take the blame is despicable and cowardly. A CEO is meant to be a leader.

What "blame"?

The dude is pulling shit out of his ass.

A CEO is meant to act in the best interests of the bottom line, and act as the working hands of the shareholders. If his announcement of involvement brings negative attention on the company, then he has done a disservice.

I know what you are trying to say, and I agree - but in the business world, there is more to it than good will.

A CEO would be forced to resign by shareholders if they found out he had lied by omission and intentionally allowed another company to take the blame. That CEO did the correct thing. If he had tried to blame Rabo over something easily disproven then he would have lost his job and the company would have lost a lot of business. It's sad that you think lying and trying to pin the blame on someone else when the whole thing could be easily uncovered is the correct method in business. Telling an obviously fake lie will only lose you business.

Im not saying he should lie, Im saying he should have REMAINED SILENT until it was revealed which company it was. Very big difference. Reread what Ive written.

Rule 1: never speak to the press. Rule 2: see rule 1

My wife worked at a firm whose contractor indirectly contributed to the death of a customer. They had a professional public relations firm come in and this was one of their big rules.

Exactly. I dont see why people find this so hard to understand. The downvotes are astounding.

Until the reveal? There would be NO wait at all. A reporter isn't going to assume that a building with a sign outside is that company. Britomart has a massive three or four story Note 4 sign outside but no one unfamiliar with the place is going to blindly report that it's Samsung headquarters.

Actually, really good point. In this day and age sometimes a good denial and complete media silence is the best policy.

Do you think the management of Rabobank are just going to keep quiet and let everyone think they're Rabobank employees? The first opportunity they get they'd make a public statement that the offices were occupied by Marsh Insurance. Keeping quite just makes the management of Marsh look cowardly and deceitful, not a good look for a company that relies on trust.

Secondly, Rabobank pays the owner of the building a substantial amount of money for the naming rights to that building. Somewhere in that contract will be a clause to the effect of "The building owner will not allow activity in the building that could negatively affect Rabobank's public image". The primary intent would be that the building owner can't lease out the top floor to a brothel, or turn the basement into a strip club. Rabobank may even have right of refusal regarding building tenants. Depending on how it's worded, Rabobank may have cause to sue the building owner, and the building owner may have grounds to sue Marsh Ltd, or cancel their lease.

Another factor is that Rabobank lends people money. Most large purchases also require insurance. (last time I checked banks won't give you a mortgage unless the house is insured). Marsh Ltd possibly gets customer referrals from Rabobank. Screwing up that professional relationship could cost them millions.
