A whole bunch of stuff. It's an article of bullet points, with various messages - what should the title say instead? How about this:

"Browns are Supporting Manziel and His Decision, Want Him Back. Also Preparing for Other Possible Outcomes."

Or is there a different cherry you'd like to pick?

I'm not cherry picking anything. That article does not say anywhere, in any terms, in any possible interpretation, that the Browns expect Johnny back in time for training camp. There isn't an argument here. The Johnny Manziel downvote brigade is out in full force though so it won't matter.

I'm not trying to be mean when I repeat this, but it's in the very first bullet point.

The Browns' staff is expecting Manziel to be part of the team for training camp -- they are not planning to walk away from him. The only reason they aren't penciling him in for organized team activities in the late spring is because they want Manziel to take his time and don't want to place a hard timetable on his process.

You literally just proved what he was saying. The bullet point is saying they expect him to still be a part of the team during training camp. They also go on to say that they aren't putting a 'spring deadline' on his return, which means he COULD POTENTIALLY not be PRESENT for training camp. That's the original argument that the title saying the Browns 'expect him back for training camp' is not at all what the article is saying, the article is saying they anticipate he will still be part of the team.

Spring = OTAs =/= Training Camp.

They're aren't penciling him in for spring activities as in OTAs, but they don't expect the process to last longer than 6 months.

It's already been stated multiple times now, but I just wanted my explanation out there - The bullet references both Training Camp and Spring OTA's, but only Training Camp is attached to any expectations.

I looks like the team expects him to come back and compete in Training Camp, but aren't banking on him being back anytime sooner.

Right. Part of the team - not planning to walk away from him. As in he'll be on the Browns roster. The Browns organization gave no indication as to any expected timeline for the return of Manziel going so far as to say they ARE NOT penciling him in for training camp. It isn't rocket science here guys.

Training camp is at the end of July.

They are not penciling him in for activities in the late spring.

I don't know why people are getting so worked up over this. The issue seems to be "back" vs "part of the team." Maybe they mean the same thing, maybe they don't. Probably several months too soon to know either way.
