If you can show concrete, supported evidence that foods produced with kosher supervision cost more than non-kosher foods of the same or comparable type, then fine. Otherwise, there's nothing to talk about but an old myth meant to spread hatred of Jews . Is there a "Halal tax" also?

And I'm not talking about foods from Jewish/Muslim companies or kosher/halal meat and fish, but stuff made by Nestle, General Mills or Pepsico. Let's take an example, shall we? Marshmallows cannot be kosher or halal as gelatin comes from animals. Can you find me significant price differences on Lucky Charms vs. other cereals. Better yet, wine. The only kosher wine is those made by Jewish companies, like Bartenura. Is there some bizarre "Jew tax" on non-kosher wines too?

Considering my country pays million to Israel every year some percentage of my income tax is a kosher tax.

its because you deflected the argument from there being an applied tax to making a statement on comparable goods and pricing.

By addressing that the tax maybe and likely exists based on your response, you have shown more knowledge of the topic at hand than you'd prefer to discuss, and rather than discuss kosher tax - instead went off on a side tangent on comparable goods pricing.

NICELY said my friend.. you hit the nail on the head..

Comparable pricing is this alleged "tax". Some Jewish and Muslim organizations charge food companies to have a representative present at manufacturing so that the company can declare a food "halal" or "kosher" under the religious organizations supervision. The canard is that this constitutes a "tax" by forcing food companies to pay for their food to be approved, the cost of which is transferred to consumers. My response is that if you, as a consumer, are so worried about the alleged "tax" why don't you compare kosher/halal items to items that do not have religious supervision to see whether or not the alleged "tax" even exists?

Are you strictly tasked with JIDF duties on the internet, or do you get to shoot Palestinian children at Gaza IDF checkpoints sometimes?

My tasks alternate between Jewgold counting and stealing Christian babies for Passover. Sometimes I have to do nose measuring too.

But they all have a circle with a u in meaning that it is ether kosher or kosher taxed item.

[–]Yserbius 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (1子コメント)

The circle with a U is a symbol that the company paid the Orthodox Union to send a representative to come in and supervise the food as it was produced to ensure that it is kosher. There are many other symbols out there, in the hundreds I believe, each corresponding to different Jewish, Muslim, vegan and other organizations that do more or less the same thing.

So what?

[–]lumen-superius 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

On all the big name products I've checked, I've only seen a U and a K. Which are Jewish unions. I've never seen a vegan logo or a Muslim logo.
