you're right, the reason people look down on GG is to feel superior and to ascribe labels, not beause they're complete morons running on an anti-feminist harrassment campaign that's been proven a dozen times over. Christ, can't you see the linked thread?

GG is a right wing reactionary movement borne out of an unwarranted victim complex.

I am sorry you cannot even reply to my comments anymore and instead try to just jerk at people who have replied to me.

Have you ever made an argument re GG or just made snarky comments about people who are against it must be X or Y.

At this point the only people left in the gg/agg are people who just want to fight it out on the internet and then circle jerk with their kind about how they totally showed it to that other group.

Actually it's three camps - those who recognise GG is a shitty misogynist movement, those who honestly think it's about journalism (must be like 5% of the movement at this point), and those who go around saying "hey guys, both sides are just as bad, trust me pleasee!!!!" pretending to be impartial, but clearly oppose those damn pesky feminists.

One, I don't care enough about you to respond first, clearly you care enough about me that you respond to all my posts, so it's not even necessary since you will show up eventually.

So the people who've been harassed on GG, do they not count

they count, and all harrassment is bad. However, I don't think it's nearly the same thing.

I haven't been following this as much as you seem to be but from what I've heard there's been numerous death threats, swatting and general harassment towards those in GG.

A very, very small amount compared to what's happened to games developers and journalist. If someone were to dox you and i, nothing would really happen. You dox Anita Sarkeesian, who some peolpe spend all day frothing in rage wanting to murder because she's gunna ruin their vidya games? that's a different level.

I find it hard to take GG's "we're so oppressed" mentality too serious, because they only get it by being outspoken GGers, which is never a good thing. They're being harrassed for being part of a movement dedicated to harrassing people. It's bad when anyone is harrassed but I can think of an easy way to avoid that.

the most noteable, provable threats have been towards Wu and Sarkeesian. The guy who got "doxxed" from GG (was it milo? can't remember which outspoken bigot it was ) doxxed themselves and pretended it was a GGer. You can't really trust conspiracy theorists like GGers to be reliable with information like that.

I dunno if you really get to paly the victim if your harrassment campaign starts to shit back onto you

i've answered the question so many times it's gotten old. I didn't think it was worth wasting time on someone who doens't even know which Baldwin brother (a right wing bigot) started Gamergate (purely to attack feminism).

I'm sure there's some confused lefties in there but they're definitely not on the left when it comes to womens issues and such. Not to mention they literally use the GOP tactic of using minorities as shields. It's kinda hard to deny at this point. Do you think 4chan is left wing or something? Or are you confused about holocaust denial? I realise most conspiracy theories are to the left (GMOs, WTC7, etc), but holocaust denial is rooted in right wing thinking and a love for facsism. And I haven't seen too much holocaust denial from any on the "anti-GG" (aka the entire world) side of the fence

Not represent them in gaming, but use them as a shield.

No, you don't. both groups are mostly white. You can find female MRAs too, but that doesn't mean they represent women. A tiny minority of confused people support notyourshield, which for some reason GG takes as meaning that minorities support them. they overwhelmingly don't. Hell, famous gamers don't overwhelmingly support them - tim shafer, gamegrumps, blizzard ceo, etc, let alone minorities. They're certainly highly transphobic - a trademark of the right and the chans. the chans themselves are highly reactionary. I dunno how you can not see this.

Maybe, but that doesn't really change gamergate. All it's large voices are right wing, it's welcoming to any voice, and it has no real goal. It's free to be abused by many right wing groups and has been. And that's why there's no real lefties left other than confused libertarians.

I can only hope that this is just you playing dumb to champion your side like you do constantly in SRD. I truly do hope so.
