TW: Sexual Violence
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a famous activist and Ethiopian-born Dutch immigrant who campaigns against FGM, supports women's rights and was a victim of FGM herself as a child. She is also known for her anti-islam advocacy and has said somethings that many people would find problematic such as:
"Islam is not a religion of peace. It's a political theory of conquest that seeks domination by any means it can."
"I wanted secular, non-Muslim people to stop kidding themselves that Islam is peace and tolerance."
What do you think of her?
Is their any way for a white, non-muslim criticize her view without erasure?
Do the privileged have a responsibility to hear her story and respect her views?
