This is a collection of all the instances of problematic messages or bad morals for children in the media. Special thanks to yourfaveisproblematic, who inspired me to make this blog.

Garfield had an episode in which Garfield goes to a weight loss camp, where he is given only one pea per day to eat, (for comparison, Nazi concentration camp prisoners were given a small piece of bread and a thin soup) forced to exercise until he is in pain, and it is all portrayed as funny because he is fat. If they showed this happening to a thin cartoon cat on children’s television, it would be pulled immediately for “horrific animal abuse”, “promoting anorexia” and “sending a bad message”. But it’s okay, because he’s fat. The thin people have “eating disorders”, we have “crash diets”. They get hurt and get sympathy; we get it videotaped and it becomes a YouTube hit. No one cares about the fat people. Not even the fat children. So, basically, what the episode is telling fat children is that they can get abused, they can get an eating disorder, they can even have EDNOS which seriously cripples their health and makes them seriously ill. But it’s all funny because they are fat.
