Just because it doesn't meet the exact definition of a ponzi doesn't mean you should trivialize his arguments. It doesn't meet the exact definitions of a pyramid scheme, but it holds many traits. By definition if you convince your friends and family to join it makes your holdings worth more. I routinely see posts here on how to convince your family to buy bitcoin here. As far as the capstone, that's clearly Satoshi at 1 million coins. The Bitcoin Foundation, half of founders were felons and are the organizational structure of the scheme. With the price of bitcoin last year and this year, thousands of people lost their shirt because there was no more new users to enter the pyramid, so you ended up being the final base of the pyramid. And in true pyramid fashion, a lack of new users eventually leads to a collapse via subsidized $15 transactions with mining.

Despite your feelings on bitcoin, it has OBVIOUS pyramid scheme traits and is ABSOLUTELY a pump and dump scheme. Whatever happens with bitcoin in the future may change it, but as of right now, bitcoin is a complete pump and dump scheme to make savvy investors rich at the cost of making you guys, the average joes poor. So far it's done an excellent job at that, we'll see if the technology materializes - but so far in 6 years there's not one worth while use case for bitcoin.

Wow, you've been busy!! 69 anti-Bitcoin posts in just 24 hours!! That's about 3 anti-Bitcoin posts per hour!! Be sure to get enough sleep, food, and water... we wouldn't want you to collapse in the middle of your marathon.

Be sure to get enough sleep, food, and water

He's been a redditor for 8 years. His brain is already completely habituated. He can go forever.

His comment:

subsidized $15 transactions with mining.

I can't tell you how many times I've responded to him trying to correct this misconception. Yet he goes on and on and on...

[–]biznizza 3 ポイント4 ポイント  (0子コメント)

he won't listen. he doesn't care ONE BIT about your arguments or logic. his job(unpaid, he made it his own job) is to bother others. thats what he will do until he gets laid someday.

[–]Rub3X -3 ポイント-2 ポイント  (8子コメント)

Each transaction costs $15, there's no explanation for that. It's unsustainable. Feel free to show me otherwise.

[–]Phrenico 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Wrong. The costs are artificial and are paid by savers, not transactors. That statistic has exactly zero power in predicting future TX costs when the subsidy reduces to near zero.

Also, weren't you complaining about $22 dollar TX fees a month ago? How does your idiotic theory explain the discount?

I love how you are lecturing me on how the protocol works and then asking me questions thinking you have me in some sort of dead end thinking you've just won the argument. If you knew what you were talking about you wouldn't use bitcoin though so I understand where you are coming from!

OOPS!

Now downvote me, ignore what I said, and don't reply (or do!) because you will only embarrass yourself further.

Notice the trend? Here's the other chart that goes along with that one

https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions

[–]Rassah 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

1 transaction = $15

If transaction volume goes up by 15:

15 transactions = $15 > 1 transaction = $1.

As transaction volume continues to grow, the cost per each transaction will continue to decline.

So ask yourself who pays for it? Who pays to keep the system going?

he posts it like it's his JOB. fucking loser has ZERO friends. eight hours a day he does this. I can't WAIT for his mid-life crisis to hit.

he literally asked before: "So it's not a Ponzi because of semantics?" Like... yes. That's exactly why.

It doesn't work like that. Down votes get rid of tough questions. And if tough questions get raised then it's a troll.

Wow... Garbage post. Try not to pollute people with such ignorance.

I though I ignored you already. Damn you RES for letting me see this trash!! ;)

I would say that it is a Bubble. Not a ponzi. A ponzi takes one investors money uses it to give a profit to the prior. Bitcoin does none of that.

If your definition of "sharing charactaristics of pyramid" is need for increased demand to sustain an increased price, than nearly every commodity meets that definition.

The truth of the matter is the Bubble was a bubble. All kinds of commodities go through bubbles, especially when the market is young or quickly expanding. Bitcoin makes no promise of profit.

OBVIOUS pyramid scheme traits

So does the stock market

ABSOLUTELY a pump and dump scheme

Just like modern banking. The pump, is that fact that you are born into the system, the dump is the steady debasement of value.

Whatever happens with bitcoin in the future may change it

Yes, that's why we're here speculating on the price and building awesome shit with the technology

savvy investors rich at the cost of making you guys, the average joes poor

LOLLOLOL, So you're looking out for average joe now? Trying to keep him plugged into the system using Bank funbux? You're such a good citizen!

6 years there's not one worth while use case for bitcoin.

Insane ancaps like you are the exact reason I come here. Your complete and utter lack of reality in everything you post is what I thrive on. It's not like I just started coming to buttcoin because I liked trolling. I came to /r/bitcoin because I liked bitcoin. I held bitcoin. Then I started reading posts like yours, your completely insane political ideologies, and I started to question my judgement. I started to question putting money in a community who actually believes the USD is a ponzi scheme and bitcoin was going to take over the world. You are literally the reason I and TONS of other people leave bitcoin. I assure you that most of buttcoins 4,000 subscribers were first subscribers here. I also assure you that you and people like you scared us away from bitcoin.

TLDR: You and the nut jobs like you ruined bitcoin.

[–]llortoftrolls 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

HAHA, You are delusional if you don't see the current financial system on the edge of collapse. QE forever! Sure buddy, stick you head in the sand and buy more US treasuries. Your faith in the system is your folly. Faith in a system(religion) that has proven to collapse time and time again. Maybe instead of trolling reddit, you should read a history book.

It's really hilarious how /r/buttcoiners think they're the informed and smart ones, but are in fact, they are the idiots who can't see the forest from the trees. It's like you think bitcoin is static and can't change and adapt to meet the challenges. You see MtGox and you think every other exchange is going to be a Gox. It's hilarious how short sighted your guys are. The world is changing right out from under you.

The invention of bitcoin got a lot of people thinking about what the world would look like without State "backed" fiats. Of course we're still in the day dreaming stage, we all know that. But the fact is that decentralized blockchain technology is the only thing that can challenge the current State+Bank system. Money and State should be separated and Bitcoin "might" be the next system. That's why we're going bat shit insane talking about it. It's potentially revolutionary.

Your rebuttal will probably be something along the lines of: never gonna happen b/c of scalability, insecure computers, volatility, which are legit concerns today, but are all being worked out. These issues are not insurmountable and there are very smart engineers all around the world working on them.

Seriously, what is your contribution to society? Negativity? The circle jerking troll forum /r/buttcoin. A few funny quips at the expense of others? HAHA

In time, the system will come together and foster a new borderless economy. You can't stop this shit from happening troll. You are wasting your time.

No one can ruin Bitcoin, it's just getting started.
