You realize that if Dal were to name them, all 13 of them will go on to win very large privacy lawsuits, right?

While they are absolutely douchebags, like it or not they are still afforded the same protections for their dealings internal to the university as any other student. The school can no more make this public than they can student records.

So with just a small glimpse into select quotes of the private communications of a few people you passed judgements and believe all associated should have their livelihood destroyed? You are naive or ignorant to think only these select 13 guys at Dal talk like that. I'm sure there's even people in the real world doing what they discussed, real crimes, not just typing fantasies/tales on Facebook. Hell, not even all of the 13 even participated in making the disrespecting statements going by the coasts color coding. Ignorance really is bliss, eh?

I'm not sticking up for behaving like they did, it was disrespectful, but common sense needs to play here. The rules they broke were Dals code of conduct, nothing criminal or illegal. I'm pretty sure we still have freedom of speech or at least are supposed to.

I really don't think it's worth to ruin someone's life for stupid comments like that. They aren't going to be in the same classes as the others... so why would you want them to be kicked out? Just for pure revenge? I just don't get why everyone is so offended by this. We have no idea of what was happening when they joked about that and for all we know, it could have been 2 people in the group chatting and not all 13 members... we know nothing.
