Don’t like it, but it is better than Safari in iOS 7/8

I really don’t want to use Google Chrome, or any Google product, but I am totally exasperated by the interface of Safari in iOS 7/8 and just can’t use it any longer. It’s like paying for a Rolls Royce and you get in the car and the dashboard is some kind of puzzle game you have to figure out, and every once in a while an arm comes out with a boxing glove on it and punches you in the face. You try to get used to it for many months but then you remember that you shouldn’t have to. What I want in a browser is the interface setup of Safari from iOS 6, with easily-accessible one-tap bookmarks and tabs, the chrome not interfering with the content, and fewer crashes than Safari in iOS 7/8, and Google Chrome seems to be what I will have to settle for, after literally 12 years of using nothing but Safari.

Seriously Flawed...except when it deigns to work.

I am glad to have an alternative to Safari on my iPhone 6. But Chrome is not it, at least not the current version. The browser consistently locks up each session. If I am lucky I can simply wait for whatever process(es) are running or stymied while doing something else on my device and when I return after a minute or five Chrome is once again responsive. If not, the browser sort of flashes out of existence, restarts and when I bring it up, it let's me know that it crashed. Since I don't know the reason for the crash I generally don't "Restore" the previous session.

There seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason for the freezes and crashes. Sometimes it is just fine, but more often than not it seems like a very Beta version of a browser.

Beware! Incognito browsing still remembers what you typed!

So, I tried a little experiment. Opened Chrome on my iPhone 6 Plus and opened a new Incognito page. The top bar went gray so I knew it was an Incognito page.
Then, I opened Google's home page. In the search field, I typed "martin solvieg hello" - it's a song. I used that phrase since it's rare that the song pops up as the first choice when typing out the name, Martin (you'll have to get to the second word before Google type-as-you-go search results find the right one).
Once you tap the results, Google takes you to the results page. All is well here - except, I wasn't expecting the search to be cached since it's an incognito page.
Closed the incognito page and opened a new, normal page. Went to Google's home page again and types the same search phrase. Lo and behold, the phrase came up immediately. It shouldn't have cached anything in an Incognito session.

I tried the same thing with Safari's Private Browsing and it worked correctly. Anything typed in a Private session wasn't retained. This is how Incognito should function.
