Its bad practice to make peoples experiences so awful that it forces them to sub. You want people to happily subscribe because they enjoy their experience already. This is also horrible for the sc2 scene. Because more casual viewers are not going to say " wow this quality sucks, guess I'll sub" they're going to say " wow this quality is horrible, fuck this, dedgaem2" and get the fuck out of there.

So we rioted, and what did GOM themselves do? Turn on pay2chat mode.

That is why I said, get the unblocker addon, go to youtube, set the country to south korea, then type gom exp into youtube search. go to their channel and click the live video. boom it works. fuck fascism.

Just keep in mind that Hola Unblocker actually uses your Machine as a endnote for routing...which can mean serious trouble if somebody decides to do something...nasty.

Well that's the thing... I don't know if anybody ever really got in trouble for using Hola(not because of the Addon itself, that's perfectly legal, but the potential use of your IP in something illegal). A few quick searches turned up nothing. But there is a potential there for it to happen(at least short time consequences)...

From my point of view, it's very unlikely that something will really happen to you, most people that do real illegal stuff online use more sophisticated methods to hide themselves than Hola and the sheer amount of people using it, means even if somebody does stupid shit, the probability of your IP being used for that is quite low. I myself do not use it anymore since I'm aware of this.

However, Hola does not make this very public information, so I thought people should know about the risk and the practice behind Hola when using it.

Well fucking said. I am a LoL viewer, but I hop around and watch Dota 2, Smite, CS:GO, SC2, Melee, SS4, etc... all the time, primarily in the interest of promoting esports in general (I play most of these games on occasion anyway). I wouldn't even turn off adblock for such asshattery, let alone consider returning to such a stream... or even watching it the one time.
