I'm really fucking confused. Has this always been an anime subreddit that I subbed to on accident? I thought I was subbed to a place where the talk was centered on actual astrophysics and not whatever the hell this place is.

While typing this reply I opened the top posts of all time in another tab. What you've done to this subreddit is atrocious. You have made a complete mockery and alienated all but a very small subset of people here, if not all. This is not an anime-themed subreddit. Anime has absolutely nothing to do with the content of this sub. This is a place to talk about the science of astrophysics. A small, but adequate place to put information regarding astronomy and physics. A place to ask questions about getting a career in the field, the best things to read to familiarize yourself, the top researchers in the field, etc. See anything missing? Anything to do with anime.

I'm not against astrophysics-themed anime being up for discussion, provided the content is relevant to the division of astrophysics as a science. For ex: Whoa, this cool-wacky-futuristic concept was brought up in this space-themed anime, how true to real life ideas is this? Or something along those lines.

Anyways, I'm rambling. I'm tired and I'm cranky, but if this is what /r/astrophysics has become, then I'm out. It's really sad, honestly.

TLDR If you really want people to stay subbed here, instead of playing a stupid game where you wait until christmas to drop a new theme, change the shit now and gear the subreddit back toward what the members care about. Seriously, this is stupid. If I had any ability to vote you out as a mod, I would. Ridiculous.
