I use the calendar function a lot and — from what I can see — functionality is *vastly* reduced compared to pre-upgrade.

There’s no way to go back to earlier days (to see if I’ve missed anything), or indeed forward beyond a week. There are no popups to tell me what the icons mean.

I used to be able to show my shows, all shows, new shows and season premiers. That’s been reduced to my shows and new shows.

The big new poster icons for each show might look nice, but on a day when there are a lot of programmes on, this is surely going to mean a huge amount of scrolling? I can’t verify this as I can’t move backwards or forwards through the calendar (see above) to check!

Overall, it *looks* lovely, but the reduced functionality is a huge backwards step ☹

Reading other comments, it seems there are many other issues as well. This really should have been beta tested thoroughly before release.

Ok, my initial reaction to the new website is VERY negative, but instead of whining about it, I'm going to try and point out specific issues so that they can be addressed:

In no particular order:
1. The design looks like it is for tablets/phones. I don't use the website on my phone or tablet. I use it daily on my computer. Most of the screens have a VAST amount of wasted white space on both the left and right. Almost a third of the screen is wasted.

2. The calendar view was and is the only real reason I use the website. I use it to see if I missed any of my shows in the past week or to look at premeirs. I had "hide watched shows" and "hide collected shows" on at all times so that I can only see things that I haven't DVR'd or watched yet. Currently, there are no options for "Premeirs" or to hide shows. That makes the view very cluttered and not very useful.

3. The new site doesn't work with XMBC. Nothing I've watched today has scrobbled or been added to my collection.

4. The calendar page is layed out REALLY poorly. Let me show you a screenshot to explain why:http://steelcityscores.no-ip.biz/images/AnnotatedScreenshot.png

5. The vertical layout of the calendar makes it very difficult to use. Previously, an entire day of shows would fit on the screen at once. Now, any day that has more than 2 shows has to be scrolled. Some days for me (like Sundays), it's not unusual for me to have 10+ shows that day. That is 5 pages of scrolling just to see whats on that day. To compare them, I have to scroll back and forth constantly. Previously, I could just scroll down to "Sunday" and they'd all be on screen.

6. The covers take up entirely too much screen space. Ideally, for me, I'd prefer no images at all on the calendar. If hiding images entirely isnt an option, then shrinking them to 1/3 the size (and squeezing more on screen) would be nice. Also, if there has to be images, episode screen caps would be preferable over the series cover.

7. In relation to the previous point, I think the "Later This Week" section in the dashboard is near perfect: Title in H2, full episode name in H3, airtime in regular font, no images cluttering it up. Only thing it would need to be a perfect calendar is to have the date in addition to the air time, to be layed out so that an entire day fits on the screen at once, and navigation buttons.

8. This box to put in a forum note is entirely too small for people trying to give details. It's only ~75 characters wide and 5 lines tall. It does have scroll bars, but that makes it really hard to proof-read before we submit. It would be nice if it grew dynamically (or was at least as wide as the column the notes displayed in and at least 10 rows tall)

9. The settings page is a bit... spartan. I assume there will be things there eventually :) It would be nice to have settings to shrink images, customize the dashboard, get stats for things that interest me.

10. The "movies" portion of the calendar seems pretty... useless? Even when I went to All Movies, it was empty. I find it hard to believe that no network is showing a movie this week at all. Might be something to look into.

I have three concrete questions:

Are you planning to:

- re-install the option to check in from a later date or time? The option to select "Watched Previously" seems to be gone entirely.

- fix the "Check-In" and "I've Watched This" buttons to have a different function? Right now they do exactly the same: they add the date & time that you click them. ("Check-In" should select the end time automatically when you click it as you start watching - like it used to. "I've Watched This" should select the time you click it, like the "Seen" button did previously).

- finally provide an option to select the time or date as UNKNOWN? (Preferably separately (!), as sometimes you still know the date, but you don't know the time. Or you know the year, but that's it.) And I mean really "Unknown", not just hidden or something like that. Add a "Unknown" option to the calendar or so.

These three options are really crucial to all of us who'd like to use trakt not only as a social in-the-moment medium, but also as a catalogue of what we've watched and when we've watched it.

Surely a flexible calendar and diary is key to a website about TV watching.

Could you give me an answer to this, if you will implement this in the near future?
(So if not, I can finally start looking elsewhere, as I've been waiting for this a while.)

before the v2 i had above 5500 plays from 200 tv shows and slightly above 700 movie plays, it looks like a significant amout of those went suddenly missing (my stats now are: 5,427 episodes of 186 TV shows and 694 movies).
I don't keep track of what i watched (duh! i'm using the website) so i don't know what exactly went missing, but i reckon it's probably this: foreign movies and tv shows, stand up shows and collections, bbc documentaries, comedy central specials, comedy central roasts, talk shows, and all of the goddamned specials!
for god's sake, i can't fathom why in the world would you abandon a database dedicated to tv and has tons of info already in it for a database that only recently adopted tv, and has lots of shit missing from it, i just can't. but whatever the reason you did it, i sure hope it was worth it.
