Let's say for arguments sake that they went into management and struggled - all it would prove is that they are not good managers. They don't have to manage a club to prove themselves as pundits and if they did and failed, it wouldn't negatively affect my view of them.

I think they are generally very fair to managers and avoid falling into the trap of blaming everything on them. They usually focus on analysing a particular team without delving too much into anything outside the pitch.
