See, you have literally no clue what that actually means yet you scream it anyway. Eric Garner's death was a tragic accident which was caused 100% by his severe asthma. What do you want to happen? Do you want to change the laws so that police officers have to give a full medical exam before restraining a belligerent suspect who is physically resisting arrest? Should they have to ask more nicely? What? When does accountability of the physically ill man making a CHOICE to fight the police come into play for you? I'm guessing never. You probably think that people should be able to fight the police with impunity.

As the law is written now, that police officer was 100% justified in using physical force. There is not a court in the land that would disagree. If Garner wasn't severely asthmatic, he would be ALIVE. This "chokehold" is a move that used to actually be taught in the police academy and has only very recently been taken away. It has been used in tens of thousands of arrests. You wanna know how many people died from it? 2. Wanna know what they had in common? Severe asthma. In the first case the officer was actually indicted, but that's because 1. he had an appalling history of abuse (pantangeloe does not) 2. He was TOLD the guy had asthma (pantangeloe was not), 3. He held the chokehold for much longer, and 4. The dude wasn't even really resisting arrest. Now. Want to guess what happened at trial?

Justice Sheindlin concluded that a police officer had put a chokehold on Mr. Baez after an altercation in front of Mr. Baez's house in 1994. But he also found that the prosecution had not proved beyond a reasonable doubt that choking was the cause of death. The judge found instead that Mr. Baez suffered a fatal asthma attack, probably triggered during a subsequent struggle with police.

Again, this case was far, far, worse than garner's. The cop was a serial abuser, he knew the guy had asthma, and he wasn't even really resisting. Do you think the judge was part of a vast racist conspiracy? No? Then WHY did he acquit?

So now some 20 years later, you have a much, much, much weaker case and you are still insisting on a kangaroo court so the officer can be "held accountable"? Tell me, by "held accountable" do you mean legally or something else? Legally, you don't have a fucking leg to stand on. Of course if you're just out for blood, then by all means, keep screaming.
