I doubt he'll get banned for it, and I don't think he deserves to be. But I know a staff member was watching at one point so I hope they atleast advise him not to do it again.

This is the same thing as when you accept certain terms they state that they aren't liable for loss of limbs or something. They don't actually enforce this but rather just protect themselves...
