Good God, fuck this website and its users. What a fucking shitty thing to say to someone who is sharing such a poignant, once in a lifetime, special moment in their lives.

The whole "if you don't have something nice to say..." Rule may not be universally applicable, but it definitely applies to engagement announcements like this, and this guy is a fuckin asshole.

Edit: and I feel bad for the OP responding to him and thanking him for his 'concern' - I wish she could have just ignored him (or better yet never have seen such a nasty comment). The mods on a sub like /r/happy should remove that sort of shit, it can't be conducive to happiness to be told (during your moment of basking in the glow of happiness that comes from deciding to spend your life with the person you love) that you are fat and going to die. What the fuck reddit -_-

The person who posted it was not being super mean like the many others. He was concerned which is cool but I do believe to keep ones mouth shut about issues such as that. Most people saying oh I thought McDonalds was your favorite place you obese pig and the reason why my fiancé is with me is because I must 'suck a mean dick' or very, very wealthy. I am trying to kill people with kindness route, so no nasty comments :).

Youre very sweet and that's a healthy perspective that I applaud, but your engagement photo was beautiful and you look truly happy as does your fiance, and that is all that matters. Fuck anyone in that thread who had to make snide comments.
