TLU(Arma 2) is run by a guy nicknamed "Chanty", who recently was recorded saying that he wants to remove all non donators from his server, and that staff on his server should want to be there to work, not to enjoy times with their friends. These kinds of servers need to be avoided until they die out permanently. Just doing my part to warn the community about the sketchiness of server owners put out there. I'm assuming 7th Cav is a realism unit? I have not heard of them.

Sorry to hear that. It sucks when higher ups in a community you put a lot of time and effort into turns their back on you for no reason. I don't know if its too stressful for some people to run a server, or maybe just incompetence. There is a constant theme of higher ups being assholes because they own the server or are close to the owner, and it kills the fucking community.

Regardless if they can't treat their community with respect, they should shut down. If they don't shut down, they should be exposed. /End rant

The community on the server is great and, like I said, some of the guys are great. But I've witnessed abuses of power including - but not limited to - kicking players to open up slots for clan mates/friends who then sit idle in spawn while they chat on TS; banning players for no reason; banning players after friends of clan members complain about their tactics/play style/or them "hogging vehicles (aka NOT DYING); banning players for calling out clan members on their abuse of power; banning players for "bad language" (which the AI in game uses so...) even when players didn't use any; taking 2 hours to kick a player blatantly using a nuke script and trolling he server (causing over 10 restarts in 2 hours) but banning players left and right for all of the aforementioned reasons.

On top of that, some of the higher ups treat everyone like shit because they're not members. It's treated like this super 1337, super exclusive club of ex-special forces, black ops guys. But in reality, they're just a bunch of gamers, just like everyone else, except they have a facade to hide behind, and an attitude to back to up.

Sorry for the rant, but it just irks the shit out of me. Like I said, a lot of the guys are great or fairly decent human beings. But there's that coupe of guys that just seem to make the server unenjoyable

What's with the slandering of a group which isn't even related to this thread? I'm sorry if you've had bad experiences but can you back your accusations up with solid evidence, like a video or screencaps? I have no high position the 7th Cav but at the same time I don't appreciate it being publicly slandered while you have nothing to prove your points. As a matter of fact as someone within this unit, I have access to the mandatory ban reports that need to be filed whenever someone is temp or perm banned, otherwise the ban will be nullified. In my close to 2 years in this group I have not once seen a ban that was given out of bad decision making on the administrative side, and if it happened the ban was overturned.

As such I would like to ask you to stay on topic, and not randomly attack groups that you don't like out of want seems to be randomly chosen reasons.

TLU has been known to abuse their staff members and then cut them as soon as they get worn out. Glad to see someone is exposing this shitty gaming community. Good riddance!

I think any admin would be pissed if you used their tools to steal players. And you agreed. So I don't know who's worse here, him , or the guy that recorded him and said he agreed then makes a video and says "fuck you" but doesn't have the balls to say that in the channel with him.

Wait so exposing an audio tape of someone who is openly saying he is going to break Bohemias TOS of being a server owner. (No server can be a pay to play server) which is exactly what Chanty says in this audio.

So if you really can't tell who's "The worse guy" here, is it the one threatening to kick anyone who doesn't donate to his server, or the staff member that was being abused and kicked from staff for having friends on the server and occasionally hanging out with them ( I know these staff members and they worked fucking hard when they were on the job).....Whose the worse guy here? Hrmm I wonder

Also, if they were all friends before, and one guy became admin, then his group of buds lost interest in that mod and he wanted to step down - shouldn't be a problem. If you aren't paying them for the help in real cash, not some in game bull shit, then you should just be appreciative for the help you got while they were interested and not be a dick when they wanna leave. This happened to me before, almost verbatim.

Chanty pays for the TS, that is his right. If you log into his TS and when he goes afk try to steal the players from his server to do something else - Shady. Any admin that puts time into their server would get butt hurt about this...I've seen it in DayZ...

When I listened I thought he was sarcastically saying "you want me to kick all non donors?" I did not think that he ever said if you don't donate you can't play here, i thought it was all about his team speak.

I still think he is a douche for holding something as cheap as a teamspeak over his admins heads to get them to stay. Or make them feel bad, or what ever manipulative goal he had. But i also think its equally shady to get keyboard courage when he isn't able to reply.

Maybe I am wrong, and maybe he was saying you can;t play here unless you pay, if that is the case then BIS would/should be all over this....right?

I've played alot on that server I gotta say!

And I've enjoyed most of my time there.

Just as long as you are not a dick to everyone you will do fine!

Most of the admins are ok just ask other players about them and they will tell you "This guy is really strickt and a dick don't do shit when he is around!"

But it's mostly about fallowing the rules to their server. But yes there have been times when a admin has broken those rules himself. And acctualy gotten into trouble for that

Just always remember to try to record what you do, so you have proof for your claims.

The video in this thread is the owner of the Server not an admin. He only holds admins accountable when he no longer needs them and has a replacement ready.

Just always remember to try to record what you do, so you have proof for your claims.

Exactly! Its what the former staff member did in this video, and look at the shit that he caught.

1.) Server owner telling staff members that they cannot hang out with friends. Expecting them to work and only work.

2.)Server owner saying his plan is to kick off everyone who doesn't donate to the server. Which is against Bohemias TOS, and exactly why everyone freaked out over Arma 3 Life

They did record it and that is what this reddit is about watch the video to understand in the video he clearly threatens to kick off all non-donators of his server just because of his admin did not want to be one anymore so because of his insecurity this all happened so we just want to get the word out that this guy is treating people like shit and gets away with it and that is exactly why we intervened against this person.

Guys this is because there group leader who didn't get promoted to a higher rank.

Im not going to make a big deal out of this because its pointless and the rants will just continue.

God mode on the server well that cant happen because we don't have that kind of access less through the admin cam.

Bans well you guys actually don't see whats going on your just a player you don't hear the abuse in the rooms and the kind of people we get on the server.

This is a community run server! If you havent got the TLU tag or activly playing on the Server YOU CANNOT! Chill on the TEAMSPEAK!!!

Which means if you never played on the server or even been on the website you just join the teamspeak to play another game we will be stopping it people complain about not enough rooms like gaming rooms its because we have these random people in there.

You guys can think what you need to but we aren't perfect no Community is but we are far from abusive we are straight to the point we dont like abuse to players.

Not to mention after speaking with griz and you lucifer you guys yourselves didn't know all the stuff that was happening in the background.

You also didn't know that Pain had already told us to remove him from staff cause he isn't going to be active.

We didn't. why because we knew he deserved to stay as staff. If your not going to be around and not show up or be on the server or the TS or help in any way shape or form and you tell us that why would you then promote someone when they have already told you to go ahead and remove them.

Also the abuse doesnt happen. IF (and big IF) it does its dealt with ASAP. Now lets also take into consideration that this convo was held a while ago. and if you actually listen closely you all are taking things way to personal this is a community if your not wanting to be a part of it just leave. If you don't want to help run the server DON'T become staff. Don't ask for staff.

And if you fail at being staff dont turn around and try to slander chantys name because YOU didn't make it. That shows how people are really like. Not to mention your members who didnt go with you have already been insulted and treated like crap by you guys. Some of your members that were with you for a long time. The teamspeak rules have been set; they are rules for a reason.

If you are a staff member of any community and you never come around and you don't show up atleast once every 3 days you wouldn't be staff. Pain was still kept as staff despite that. He just wasn't promoted. Because HE wasn't around.

Plus as staff you are insulted called names and treated like trash by random people that join the teamspeak and in game. All were trying to do is maintain a server that we enjoy to play on and want you to enjoy playing on. You think you know the stuff that goes on that we deal with but you don't. We are constantly dealing with trolls, hackers, and just plain insulting and mean people. Thats part of being staff on any arma server. I am constantly asked for more game rooms. Every day i am asked for it. Wouldnt need them if random people who have never even heard of arma 2 takistan life sit in the teamspeak playing a game.

I talked to you griz and you lucifer you guys hopefully understand a little bit more about the decision that was made about Pain. You all keep forgetting that Pain is the one that set this in motion by not being around. Not TLU it was Pain. If he wanted to promotion why would he tell us to remove him.
