That's what they'd have you think, but it's for real. Read that SRS thread. They hate men and they can barely contain it. They try to put a thin veneer of humor over it but it's quickly abandoned when they are upset. Ghazi is a little better at hiding it cause we're there to keep them in line but they really, honestly do worship Sakeesian.
This poor guy must have so little power in his life that he gives himself the illusion that he's influencing another group of people through his actions (even though it just gets laughed at.) He's like a punch-drunk boxer that hasn't realized his coach got up and left. I can't imagine the number of people who've rejected him and rejected him for any number of reasons until he reached a point that most women are some Other that are collectively working against him and his biological imperative and the weapon they use is feminism. It's not that he's just stupid, but he also needs to fill that void in his life by constructing an enemy to be against to give himself meaning (like the Batman-Joker dichotomy, I'm sure he sees it that way.) No wonder there's such a strong backlash against women and feminism coming into this space: to him, their Fortress of Solitude is being invaded by the womenfolk and they're hanging up pink drapes everywhere without his permission.
It's been said a thousand times, and I'm sure it'll be said a thousand times more, but they really do think that nerd culture is a space belongs to men and that women are only visitors (as long as they have the proper passport, of course: they can visit but they can't vote.) Might have been true 10 or 20 years ago, but not today and not in the rest of our lifetimes, or the next generation's lifetimes, or the next. Half of all people who play video games now are women and they get a say. I couldn't be more proud to be on the right side of history.
