Throwing out stop sticks can be dangerous as hell
Any follow up to this guy? Did he live?
Yes, he lived. He eventually was able to recover to the point where he had only a minor injury.
The car was being driven by a 15-year-old dude who had stolen it. He was put on probation after this incident (presumably because of his age). He then violated that probation by stealing another car, and was subsequently sentenced to 11 years in prison when he was 18.

Edit: I initially assumed the kid was a girl because of the name, but then a closer reading of the article showed that he was, in fact, a dude.
Never heard this story before, but I bet I'd be right if I guessed the criminal's race. Also, I'm not racist, but after being on this Earth for 30 years, you start to see a recurring theme with specific crimes.
Edit: Typical Reddit. Downvote and keep burying your head deep in that sand. It's just like an addiction... this country needs to acknowledge it has a problem before that problem can get better.
And your guess would be based on what, exactly?
Repeat offense for stolen vehicles and attempted vehicular homicide. I'm just going with percentages here, based completely on what I've seen/heard over the years.
I still haven't looked at the article. Tell me if I'm right. Is it a shade of brown/black? If I'm wrong, I will completely apologize and rethink my logic. So... am I right?
The kid was black. Congratulations--your pre-existing biases have been reinforced.
Here's a little lifehack: after being on this earth for 33 years, if you have to say, "I'm not racist," then you're about to say something that demonstrates that you're racist.
> if you have to say, "I'm not racist," then you're about to say something that demonstrates that you're racist.
No, it's just because Reddit is a hippie liberal site that calls out every single thing as being racist. So, I wanted point out my neutral position before a wave of "dats racis" came flooding in. I hang out with black people regularly. But I also realize what percentages are and am open-minded and logical enough to acknowledge them.
>"dats racis" . . . I hang out with black people regularly.
You're a troll, right? Because no one in today's society can hit that many racist tropes without intentionally trying to be racist.
>But I also realize what percentages are and am open-minded and logical enough to acknowledge them.
What percentages are you referring to, exactly?
> What percentages are you referring to, exactly?
Opening my eyes. If you say someone shot their spouse or burned a house down, I won't have any preconceived idea of who did it. But the specific crime you mentioned has a pretty slanted probability. It is not a bias. It is not an opinion. It happens.
Ignoring the complex circumstances of specific individuals in a specific situations in order to use a real tragic event as a cartoonish illustration to promote your racist agenda is reprehensible. That's why you're being downvoted.
> racist agenda
And there you are wrong. Very wrong. Acknowledging that certain people do things more frequently doesn't make anybody racist. Denying it makes you ignorant of reality. Without acknowledging it, fixing problems can't even begin. People like you are the reason it continues to happen.
"Certain" people huh.
If you're saying that black and brown people as a group "do things more frequently" because of structural pressures like institutionalized racism, that's one thing, if you're saying they "do things more frequently" because they're black/brown, or saying their race predicts/explains their behavior that's another thing. It's possible you aren't a racist, but your original statement implied you thought his skin color was the source of his behavior.
When you encounter an individual person with brown skin do you expect them to "do things" because statistics say brown people do those things more frequently? If you aren't capable of treating black people as individuals, that make you a racist.
Okay then. Say most people end up acknowledging this. What then? What could be done to "fix" such a "problem", huh? Shall we round up the minorities and shove them into ovens, or enslave them? Share with us some of your insight into this matter, please.
Your fucking stupid man. Even when everyone tells you you're wrong you are still ignorant enough to not even consider our opinion.
You're either a troll or retarded.
> Even when everyone tells you you're wrong
Who told me I was wrong? Nobody. Obviously you just make shit up. I don't.
>not even consider our opinion.
If I was to consider your opinion, I would need to be wearing a helmet and drooling.
The people downvoting you are disagreeing with you you blind fuck. If there was less people like you the world would be a better place.
Obviously you haven't noticed that Reddit is 99% kids that still live with their parents and don't know what reality is yet. You really think downvotes mean anything? You poor, ignorant soul. One of these days you'll have to move out on your own and mommy and daddy won't be there. But don't worry, the sun won't kill you.
Yeah a downvote means people disagree with you. What the fuck else could they mean?
It means that children disagree with me. Little kids that don't know any better. 90% of them are not adults, guaranteed, and you probably aren't either.
