As someone who is subscribed to the gamut of policing subreddits I really like this.

In every other sub users get to spout off inane bullshit about how terrible officers are and everyone is corrupt, etc, often without acknowledging the full story or that regardless of being an officer, some people are just shitty human beings.

In this sub, if anyone here makes any sort of retort it's just "proof that all police are insensitive and authoritative". Can't really win.

But this, this is an awesome middle ground that really demonstrates the humanity of having to deal with assholes.

The cracks about how we did in High School, and questions about our intelligence, always amuse me. I'm just sitting here thinking "You know, I have a college education, and this guy can't even use the appropriate "their, they're, there."

Or when someone regurgitates that meaningless "departments don't hire people with Above-Average IQs" study, which was based off one off-handed comment about one department that never actually had a policy about that, and I get a second laugh when I realize that I've never actually met an officer who went through an actual IQ test. I mean, there's the standardized testing they do here in Oregon, but thats all high-school level BS with a law enforcement vernacular.
