Frequently Asked Questions

Here is the link to my ask box, if you are here to complain about my blog or the things I say please read this page first.

1. Why are you vegan?

Because I don’t see animals as vending machines. Because I don’t take shit that doesn’t belong to me. Because I don’t prioritize my tastebuds over somebody’s life. It’s really simple stuff.

2. Why do you put your depression/PMDD in your bio? Isn’t that kind of attention-seeking?

Because it’s a bio. It’s about my life. Also it’s my blog, I can seriously put whatever I want on my own blog and no one is forcing you to look at it. (If they are, I think you’ve got bigger problems than what’s on my blog.) Also, maybe you didn’t consider this because if you asked me this then you’re probably (definitely) an inconsiderate ableist shithead, but people with mental illnesses like to seek support from other people with mental illnesses. Other people with depression know that they can come talk to me and I’ll be more likely to understand their problem. And less likely to be an inconsiderate ableist shithead.

3. Don’t cows need to be milked?

Seriously this one gets me every time. Like did you all not take third grade biology? Cows are mammals. Cows produce milk for their babies just like all other mammals (interestingly, there are no species which produce milk for other species) and believe it or not, they have to give birth to do this. Because if there’s no baby, there’s no reason to produce milk. Cows are forcefully impregnated and once the baby is born, they are taken away within 72 hours (this is industry standard) so that humans can drink the mother’s milk. Obviously, with no baby around to drink the milk, the cows will be uncomfortable and their udders may even hurt. (They usually do anyway because they are often given hormones to cause them to produce as much as ten times the amount of milk they would naturally, and most of them have udder infections because of this.) It’s kind of like if you took a human’s baby away and their breasts started to hurt because they were lactating. No species just perpetually produces milk for no reason.

4. You don’t have to be vegan to care about animals!

"Animals" includes more than cats and dogs. If you care about someone, a great way to show it is by not treating them like a fucking vending machine. If you are not vegan (or as vegan as you can be given your personal circumstances), you cannot claim to care about animals. Nor can you claim to care about the environment, or other people. You can only claim to care about your tastebuds.

5. I totally respect you being vegan but please don’t force your beliefs on others.

Okay well first of all I don’t know why carnists insist on adding the whole “I respect your views” crap every time, like if it’s so damn respectable then why aren’t you doing it? There is nothing respectable about exploiting animals. I mean let me get this straight…you are asking for equal respect when your view (this being that you are somehow entitled to the flesh and secretions of other sentient beings, which is honestly the ultimate form of forcing your beliefs on others) contributes to the suffering and death of literally billions of other beings per year AND is the leading cause of environmental destruction, while my view is that maybe we should NOT be doing all this shit, especially since we have no biological need for animal products anyway? Your actions cause avoidable and unnecessary harm and you go around spreading your misinformed bullshit, and I’m supposed to respect you? Reeeeeally?
