There was an actual conspiracy against the subreddit regarding this AMA.

Well, I guess that sounds better than 'we got trolled'.

There's a conspiracy against my head, I think I'll rename it a headache after reading /r/conspiracy.

Oh you're cheating. That was Assuredly who said that. If you removed him from Reddit you'd lose like 40% of the insanity on the whole site.

The dude's been shadowbanned on several alts and called out by three different admins for his vote cheating and manipulation. Trolling around reddit is essentially his life.

AATA is my favorite crazy person. He is so consistently inconsistent.

it also sounds like they know that all their other conspiracies are bullshit.

I blame the Jews.

Dammit, why is /r/conspiracyconspiracy already taken and private?

because conspiracy

It's nice that there is for a change an actual conspiracy on that sub though. It's almost like they are saying that all the rest are baseless and unfounded.

A solitary troll isn't a conspiracy, by definition.

This is true, I'm just making light of the fact they refer to it as an 'actual' conspiracy, as opposed to all the rest.

Unless he's talking to himself.

this reaches beyond normal reddit meta drama and directly impacts the reputation of an actual person.

What could possibly impact that person's reputation more than being a 9/11 truther in the first place?

Being a redditor.

huehuehue

Being a Holocaust denier.

Is that not a basic requirement to post on /r/conspiracy?

It's ok not to deny Holocaust on /r/conspiracy but you sure as hell better not say that the Jewish version is right. Those fuckers control everything.

Well, you would know, wouldn't you?

We will look into this conspiracy to impersonate Mr. Gage and defame his character on the backend.

Defame him? The only truly idoitic thing he said in the ama was his bowling ball analogy...

I did kind of like his bowling ball analogy / thought experiment, which wasn't too bad.

God fucken dammit /r/conspiracy

What I am amused by is the fact that one person cannot, by definition, be a conspiracy.

Can you summarize the analogy?

"The official story of what happened on 9/11 is kinda like a bowling ball: it may knock down a few conveniently placed pins, but it's full of holes, and I, personally, find it very difficult to swallow."

Okay, not really. My guess is something to do with free-fall speeds, since most 9/11 conspiracy theories seem to centre around that.

It was suggesting that there is no difference between dropping a bowling ball from 6 inches above your head vs. just setting it on top.

Can I get a full quote? That just sounds super stupid in condensed form as you put it and I refuse to believe that anyone would think that it was a good analogy, not even someone who is from /r/conspiracy.

Oh god dammit. People thought that was a good analogy. It just doesn't feel right.

Wow, that was expert level trolling. He is literally using an argument that's supposed to say the opposite of what he makes it say.

And had people blindly defend it. It's a thing of beauty.

I'll have to see if I can find it.

Maybe they should try it for themselves...

He made an analogy between the twin towers collapse and dropping a bowling ball 6" onto your head. Since your head can withstand the impact of a 6" bowling ball drop, he claimed the towers should not have collapsed.

He then claimed this was "simple physics".

Ok, so what you do in that situation is you take that guy and drop a bowling ball on his head from six feet. If he survives or at least retains mental functions, he's got a point.

I think most truthers have tried this sometime in the past. It would explain quite a bit.

Ok, so what you do in that situation is you take that guy and drop a bowling ball on his head from six feet. If he survives or at least retains mental functions, he's got a point.

And that's how truthers are born.

Sooooo did they ask for any verification at all?

Facts? Evidence? Verifiable identities?

Which sub are we talking about again?

...it's pretty damn simple to do AMAs and get verification. Not hard to figure out. Anyone that writes that much about how he didn't get verification can't be all that intelligent...

It is very disconcerting and we are working with the theory that this troll was designed entirely to defame Mr. Gage.

By emulating exactly what /r/conspiracy was expecting him to say? If anything, that troll showed that anybody can be a 9/11 conspiracy "expert" by just repeating the same empty phrases.

It's amazing how clearly this shows that those people over there would believe anybody instantly, as long as it supports their views.

So is /r/conspiracy a satire? Everything that happens is somehow part of a secret plot. It doesn't make sense. Even the people in their own subreddit are conspiring against themselves. Everyone can't really be out to get everyone with everything.......
