Youtube doesn't serve ads there. Something else is adding the advertisement.

100% malware. Run malwarebytes , spybot search and destroy and Malwarebytes anti-rootkit to make sure you're 100% clean. (Yes, run all three seperately)

To those assuming it's malware - read replies in this thread. Has been confirmed it is New Zealand-targeted advertising.

Have done full Malwarebytes scan as well as incognito/disabled addons.

Contrary to what some others are saying, that's normal ad space. Still, though, I'm not 100% convinced that it's not malware replacing legit YouTube ads. Humor me and try one other thing. Run JRT and see if it removes anything. I use it at work and it does a good job of removing stubborn adware that Malwarebytes can sometimes leave behind. Takes about 10-20 minutes.

Because its adware. Get Malwarebytes and scan your computer. No one is going to make fun of you for a little bit of malware. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Do a full scan, not a threat scan. A threat scan only looks at the mostly commonly effected spots and the malware can move. Full scans "fill" the drive so it can't move and scan every last bit of data on your computer. Its undoubtable adware and you don't want that on your computer for any longer than you already have

Have run in incognito mode, addons disabled, did a full custom scan same results. Other people in this thread have confirmed similar ads, one person from New Zealand is getting the same placement too:

Check your chrome extensions. Try incognito mode.

That's not the right scan and malware can be masked inside of Chrome extensions which don't always get picked up by Malwarebytes.
