"Well then fuck you, you ungrateful bum!"

No kidding. How about "Thank you for the coats, we definitely need these. But they're not a long term solution. Jobs are."

Bums have been known for the intelligence and grace.

Yeah! It's not like just anyone can be a bum.

I have a job and I feel like I could still be a bum. Hey, you got a cigarette?

[–]Raeli [

Spare some chaaaaaaaaaaange?

They have been known to freeze to death however.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.. Give a bum a few rocks to fish with and you feed him for a lifetime? Honestly I'm always impressed by this gif, that cannot be easy

Give a man a fire and he can heat himself through a night. Set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

The bums will always lose!

They're always catcalling women!

Maybe they're sick of being labelled bums by privileged dickheads like you.

[–]too_lazy_2_punctuate [非表示スコア]  (0子コメント)

St Francis once said something like don't expect thanks for charity. The people you help are ashamed to receive help and will never thank you.

[–]_Born_To_Be_Mild_ [非表示スコア]  (8子コメント)

Desperate people speak in desperate tones.

rude people speak in rude tones. like this ungrateful bitch.

[–]_Born_To_Be_Mild_ [非表示スコア]  (2子コメント)

rude people speak in rude tones. like this ungrateful bitch.

That reads hilariously like your talking in the first person.

Now that's ironic

This comment was way more rude then that homeless woman's. She may have been a little blunt (given her situation it's understandable), but you're being downright insulting in the most spoiled way.

nope.

"your coats don't matter."

how fucking rude. not just 'maybe a little blunt'.

offering something out of her own good nature, to be thrown back in her face.

point stands: ungrateful bitch.

Huh? It's incredible to me that people can see the world in such a warped way. The homeless woman WAS rude. She DID come across like an ungrateful bitch.

When people hold the homeless and minorities to a lower standard they're actually guilty of a worse kind of bigotry--the kind that guarantees that they stay down.

yeah.

a more realistic one would be "your coats dont matter, jobs matter give us jobs not coats"

"well fuck you too then, now i get to keep the coats"

This.

I hate ungrateful homeless people. Be fucking glad someones trying to help.

Reminds me of a time in Portland, OR with my dad years ago.

Homeless lady asked for money for food. My dad said no like most. So told him he should. He instead bought me lunch and got 2 extra burgers. He offered this lady those 2 burgers..."No thanks I'd rather have cash."

Like even as a kid...I was blown away at that shit.

That because she probably wanted money for drugs.

What normal person would even turn down food anyways?

Would you accept and eat food from some random person? What if they did something to the food?

A person who is not hungry and has no way to store it?

Well, consider that homeless people are not necessarily hungry, and have other needs besides food. Food is cheap. But to get off the streets you need to save up some money.

Even if asking for money for food, maybe she didn't need the food right at that moment. And without a fridge it's not going to last.

It's ridiculous that I never really thought of this. No one will give her anything if she says she's saving up. But asking for money for food, even when she doesn't want food, is the best way for her to save up. Well, a job is the best way but it's really hard to get a job off the streets. Really hard.

So you eat the food?

Though i could also see how you just woldnt accept food on policy of people could mess with it.

Actually food is getting more expensive all over the country.

While I get the hypocrisy, please understand that some twisted fucks will put glass or razor blades in food that they give the homeless.

More likely than not they only wanted the money for drugs and/or alcohol, but it very well could have been for safety.

Sometimes getting food from a random person can be dangerous, you never know if someone put poison or something else in it. It can be safer to get the food directly from a restaurant or store.

Take back the.coat.and.hand her an application to McDonald's.

You need an address and phone number.

Walks into McDonald's interview ragged and smelling like garbage.

Not sure what went wrong!

Yeah, that's her problem. Bitch never even thought once to apply for a job. Countless jobs would hire people with poor hygiene and no address in a heartbeat.

[–]Slevo [

Wait, I JUST GAVE YOU SOME CHANGE!!!!

It's not like the coat designer was responsible for the homeless woman's situation. So therefore anything the designer did for them should have been appreciated. Stupid bum.

missing the point which is why this designer is making a difference.

I'd think less of a person who gave away free jackets to the needy and rejected them when they responded in any manner not suitably grateful enough then I would for someone who didn't even make an effort to help.

That didn't happen.

I bet that bitch took the coat anyways, seconds after saying "your coats don't matter"

This is so typical of the homeless I've worked with. (I've made a number of promotional videos for organizations that help the homeless.) Most of them feel entitled to whatever people give them and they almost never express gratitude.

I used to be a humanitarian. In my early twenties I was trying to help the homeless in central Illinois. I learned that you've got the homeless who are mentally ill and abandoned to waste away and die. Then you've got the people that have fallen on bad times. Then you've got the scumbag alcoholics and drug addicts who deserve to rot.

Group number three ripped off our group so much that I declared I'd rather not help any homeless person than risk giving them any form of aid.

You realise that drug addicts and alcoholics are the same as the first and second group, right? Addiction and what circumstances can lead to it are a mental illness and bad times.
