Mods: please remove these posts.

Every time a tall female posts a picture of themselves, every male has to stop by and compliment them. Now, females (OP) have started posting straight up selfies for compliments.

Please don't let this subreddit turn into this.

OP, you look cute and sound nice, but take this to Instagram and facebook. I'll follow you on IG, but please keep your attention getting posts away from reddit.

What, do you want more pictures of people with lots of leg space in airplanes?

Maybe some more memes of giraffes?

[–]TheFightingFarsi6'4" | 193 cm | MA 5 ポイント6 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yeah, because if there's one thing I want less of in my life, it's pictures of attractive tall people. That would be the WORST.

Serious question, what sort of content would you rather see posted here?

Yeah it's just a selfie of a pretty attractive female and we do get a few of those, but it's no less interesting than a picture of a tall person next to a short person.

[–]thebigschnoz6'3" | 190cm | Buffalo 17 ポイント18 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Or a person in a shower. Or a person next to a giraffe.

[–]BlatantFix6' 5" | UK 8 ポイント9 ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's not really any less interesting than them, but it is less relevant to being tall. Showerheads / Mirrors / Short friends are all overused and kinda just fishing for karma/attention, but they do at least relate to being tall in some way. This is just straight up a selfie with no tall context whatsoever. Surely at least some attempt to actually relate something about being tall into your post should be required beyond just "I'm an attractive tallette" even if its just the title referencing you actually found clothes that fitted or something. This post literally serves no other reason than "compliment / give me karma for my appearance."

These posts get way more upvotes than the typical "look at me next to my short friend." If this is the direction the sub continues, it seems to me like eventually being a tall extremely attractive woman will be the only way to have something to post here that's relatively well-received. Maybe I'm just bitter about solely looks-related posts because I'm just tall but not hot or pretty, but to me this post doesn't really seem to have much to do with being tall.

I understand, you make good points. There's only so much possible content when talking about being tall though. Leg space posts, towering over something or someone and the mirror selfie can only be so much fun. I'm not advocating a mirror selfie as great content but I don't find it to be any worse than the average post in this sub.

I'm just tall but not hot or pretty

Get that negativity out of here, you are tall, and pretty.

That's what this sub's always been about. Blatant creeping!

When I started hanging out around here a couple years ago, oh man, the women were... shall we say aggressive?

[–]jjness6'4" | 193 cm 2 ポイント3 ポイント  (0子コメント)

As opposed to all the great, in-depth discussion about tall privilege or prejudice, about the social influence being tall wields, or anything else?

I propose any attractive tall person should post their pictures here, or other people post pictures with their tall friends (with their permission, of course). /r/tall could be /r/tallgonemild for all I care (though, I do sometimes enjoy me some /r/tallgonewild...)

Edit: And while you have 32 upvotes at the moment, and if we presume all 31 people who agree with you properly downvoted OP's submission, that still means there's 115 people plus OP who voted it up and thought it belongs here.

Seems at least 33 people agree with you at the time of writing. Personally, I think you should just click somewhere else. It's not like this sub is filled with valuable content. It's just a fuckin picture.

I don't have an instagram, and I rarely post to Facebook. I'm not looking for compliments, I have a loving boyfriend. It's just I'm so used to being the ONLY tall as heck girl and getting tons of unwanted comments on being like a giraffe, or do you play basketball?! It's SO tiring. So for once I thought it would be nice to post and feel in place with a group of tallettes. Sorry I guess :-/

Next time I'll post some pic showing my sleeves are too short or me with my 5' bestie and it will be more acceptable :P

No no, look sad while standing next to a shower head that is below your face. We don't have enough of those! /s

Can I request a picture of your knees uncomfortably positioned in some form of public transportation?

[–]FitnessNurse20155'11"[S] 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (4子コメント)

Sure, next time it happens. I haven't flown in a while, or been on a bus in quite some time. I am however currently sitting all the way back in a large chair at my college, and my knees are sticking out like crazy. Uploading a picture to imgur..

[–]PushcartPops78" 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (3子コメント)

Awesome! Use a shower head for scale!

http://imgur.com/vo0EKQm I'm at my college at the moment working on a paper, but I'm sitting all the way back in a deep chair and my knees are popped up like always. In high top chairs at restaurants my feet just barely dangle from the floor when sitting all the way back. This is the best I can do, I feel weird taking pictures of my legs in a study room with other students :)

Another view.. http://i.imgur.com/jx91OdY.jpg I'm pretty sure the girl across from me thinks I'm weird for taking pics of my legs..

To be fair, there's not a point of reference to be able to tell that you're tall. To me, you're just a regular person, which is neither negative nor is it positive.

http://i.imgur.com/jx91OdY.jpg I'm currently sitting in a chair in a study room at my university all the way back and my knees are higher than the chair...I don't know if it helps. But I'm in a public space and can't really take other pictures right now without seeming weird. Also, when I cross my legs in most normal chairs both feet touch the ground lol.

**Hi guys, this was quite an overwhelming response. To those who don't think I 'look tall', I'm just shy of six feet. My arm length is 35", and I have size 12 feet. I feel like a giant most days, and uncomfortable in my skin. I found this subreddit, and I chuckled and felt for all the poor people with scrunched up legs in airplanes, high waters, too-short arm sleeves, never being able to find shoes, getting stuck in doorways, squatting to fit under the showerhead..it was like an awesome empathy party. I felt like you were my people! Today I felt normal. I was able to hide that my pants are too short, and I didn't feel abnormal for some reason. I loved the idea of solidarity and acceptance. I don't care for compliments, and I didn't think this would get near as much attention as it did. I hoped to make some tall friends. Yes, I am dating an amazing guy who happens to be 5'8". Yes, tall guys are hot too. In my eyes, I don't date exclusively taller or shorter guys. I don't understand the bitterness and it's pretty upsetting. End of my rant. Have a great day.

I would atleast prefer the 'female selfie' posts to be next to something which actually SHOWS THEY ARE TALL.

This one has nothing to compare her height too, and thus is literally just a selfie.
