AMDA Receives $1.6 Million CMS Grant to Improve Care of Younger Adults in PA/LTC

AMDA is receiving $1,624,269 in civil money penalty funds (CMP) over a three-year period to develop a training curriculum & program on care of younger adults in PA/LTC that will be distributed AL, GA, FL, KY, MS, & SC.

AMDA Seeking Nominations for Board of Directors

The 2015 Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the 2015 Slate. For the first time this year, in addition to eligible physicians, AMDA may elect an eligible nurse practitioner or physician assistant to a board seat as a representative of the State Presidents Council, or the House of Delegates.

AMDA’s Immediate Past-President Jonathan Evans, MD, MPH, CMD, was recently featured in the Dementia Action Alliance’s video “Person-Centered Matters,” which portrays five people living with dementia and how person-centered care helps them live more fully.

AMDA House of Delegates Votes to Change Name and Expand Membership

At AMDA — Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine's (AMDA) recent annual conference, the House of Delegates voted to change the organization's name to AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. The House of Delegates also voted to expand full membership to nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs).
