So 4chan trolls are scum, but the author of that article, Laurelai Bailey, is the worst. Starting with the least severe and easiest to prove, she's a snitch. Sabu/Hector Monsegur from lulzsec was first dox'd when Laurelai leaked private chat logs (to get back at someone else she was pissed at). And she doesn't just snitch by accident: Bailey’s conversation with the feds lasted about five hours, during which she told them everything she knew.

There's a lot of stories on the internet by people that gave her a place to stay only to have to kick her out after she treats them, their kids, their cat, and everyone else like complete shit.

There was the time she showed up at the workplace of some doctor in florida and told all his neighbors he was a pedophile because she thought he was the real life identity of someone she had an internet spat with.

Most seriously she's actually an abuser and rapist.

For all the MRA's talk of fake rape accusations, Laurelai is probably the only person in the world who's enough of a manipulative asshole to actually make multiple false rape accusations and then brag in private about claiming "triggers" and playing the victim card to silence people she has disputes with.

She finally got kicked off of shit reddit says and the lgbt subreddit, but apparently she's found new communities to poison and buy her bullshit.

Edit: Well this thread didn't turn out like I'd hoped. For the record, I do not think trolling trans people is something harmless we can just ignore. But I also don't think it's a good idea to play into the hands of someone who's physically abused more trans people than internet trolls ever could. The average troll on 4chan is probably a loser in real life, no friends, maybe they were bullied, noone ever paid attention to them. Now they get on the internet and say otrageous shit and people pay attention, some people fear them, they get news stories written about them... and that's what fuels them to keep doing it. Laurelai knows 4chan better than anyone, and she is not interested in stopping their harrasment of trans people. She knows giving them attention and calling for /pol/ to be shut down is exactly what will motivate them to escalate and run with this. She wants a big shitstorm with her leading the charge so she can regain her position in the trans community.
What's an actual way to help? I don't know. Maybe reaching out to trans people being harrassed, or providing a phone line and chat 24/7 where people can always talk to someone supportive? Giving Laurelai the shitstorm she wants is not the solution.
