Incredibly overrated by people...

Also, it's "Classical" not "Classic..."

He was not alive during the classical period nor did he write in the classical style

The only people who care about that (AND don't understand that Classical Music is a broadly accepted umbrella term) are people who don't listen to classical music and/or 14 year olds.

Which one are you?

Someone who actually listens to a lot of classical and orchestral music. Are you seriously lumping 400+ years of incredibly varied music under one banner term because they have similar instrumentation and a more elaborate approach to composition than pop music? It would be the same as putting Meshuggah and and Chuck Berry in the same category because they both use guitars and have strong rhythm elements

You don't need to lie just because it's the internet. I know you don't listen to classical music.

Just because it is used that way does not mean it is a suitable title, it is used in that context by people not familiar with the genre who would not know the difference between Webern and Mozart. It is not a descriptive title and its use should be discouraged. Have you ever done any education on classical music that contained composers who were not from the classical period? Musicians and people interested in it do not use the term so loosely. You can find Snarky Puppy in the rock section of some record stores but that does not make them rock

It's fucking Gramophone man. It's the most reputable review website for CLASSICAL MUSIC in the world. Classics Today is also very respected and their reviews are branded on all kinds of CD's.

And you keep using comparisons to popular music.

Please, don't talk about shit you don't know.

I am a musician, I have played in groups performing 'classical' music and I have written pieces in that style. Dont assume that you are the authority here. Just think about what a genre is, it is a name to describe music that has a similar style. The musicians lumped under the banner classical in the way you use are not all related stylistically and therefore do not deserve to grouped in the same genre.
