We planed to have a beautiful pre Thanks Giving lunch today with our family. So disjointed. Service is slow and disappear all the time that we there. Toke 30 minutes for drink and refill hot tea. Food, we ordered Spicy Pork, Bogoki and Calby for BBQ. Waiter said 2 items will cook from the kitchen. Why? We love to cook it ourself, that's why we chose Korean BBQ Food.
No soup and no sweet drink after.
There is no manager on floor to look over the restaurant. So sad, lots of money to built up this restaurant nice and elegant but has not pay attention to service and inside of the restaurant.

Went to dinner with Father here on Nov 19.

Father told me something in the seafood did not taste right.

Fast Forward that night from Midnight - 4:30 am,   My 74 year old father is on the toilet throwing up constantly. I took him to the ER around 4:45 am and they confirmed it was a Stomach Virus caused by food bacteria.

I'm lucky my father is still alive from this incident.  I will be contacting the Health Department on Monday.

The restaurant interior is beautiful when you look up at the ceiling.

The wait staff is awesome and very attentive. Kudos to the Hispanic server who knew how to pronounce korean dishes - that's awesome!

The korean side dishes were one of the best that I've ever had in any of the korean restaurants I've been to in ktown. Can I say that I can compare the side dishes to my mom's home cooking? I ordered the dumpling rice cake soup and it came in a huge huge huge bowl. I should have shared it with my friend.

My only complaint about this place are the dirty, scratched and burnt dishes for all the bowls on my main dish, rice bowl, as well as all the side dish bowls. That's pretty disheartening to see when you walk into a beautiful restaurant that serves delicious food.

Good food, funky smell and whatever service. That kalbitang keeps me coming back though. I hope they get rid of the unpleasant odor in the restaurant. My mother also complained that the entire restaurant smelled like feet.

Since there was a commercial for Madang on Ktv, we came here thinking it would be your average Korean BBQ joint- we were DEAD wrong!
If you're going for BBQ & drinks, be prepared to spend &150-$200 for 2... we did! Hubby & I had agreat experiencehere ona Fridaynight w/no reservations & thought it was well worth it!

Decor = very modern/fancy with Korean touches-
                   A beautiful restaurant!

Banchan = More subtle flavors w/interesting twists
On some classics (using kale instead of
Spinach). Def aimed at a more refined
                        Palate- NOT your AYCE banchans!

BBQ = We ordered one of the pricey combos w/
Seafood. Quality of both were fresh and
                Delicious!

Service = I guess we got lucky, because our young
Male waiter (w/tattoos on his arms)
Was AWESOME!!! Hubby asked for a
Cigarette, & the waiter (who didn't smoke)
                     Asked several employees before coming
Back w/ 2 for him- SO nice!
                     Cooked everything perfectly and didn't
hover over us,  but still checked in
                     just enough!

Very surprised other yelpers complained about the service. Our service was great.. Maybe we went on a good day? Came here for lunch on a Saturday.
    We ordered:
NAKJI (octopus)DOLSOT ($16): this was very good. Like the flavor
BIBIMBAP($10): mom liked it. She complained how there wasn't enough namul ( veggies).. But I told her just add the namul banchan in there... No complaints after. Haha
BULGOGI JUNSHIK($13): fed my 2 girls this and it was more than enough. Only thing was the meat was good but couldn't get over how light colored it was... Like it had no soy sauce... It was flavored, but thrown off with the color
BANCHAN: banchan was good. My girls
Loved the jangjorim. The kimchee tasted clean... Crisp.

Liked how they give the water in plastic cups with kids. Nice touch. Also like the brown to go bags. Nice chance from the typical plastic bags.

Little pricey... But clean. Would def come back

Hm - I would actually give this place a 3.5, but I bumped it up to a 4 because - why not?

Anyways, the place is within a pretty cool little mini mall, but the parking situation is SUPER annoying.  I completely regretted not going for the valet while I had the chance.  So my advice is that if you're going just for dinner or dinner and a movie, valet your damn car.  The price is worth the stress of finding a parking spot in a very narrow structure, and not dealing with the line.

Moving on.  I went here with my mom in the late afternoon for an early dinner... so let's get to it.  The service was pretty annoying.  I'll chalk it up to the fact that we were sitting in the bar area.  My order was completely wrong, because the dude was too impatient to just hear out my order.  No matter... the food itself?  Delicious.  Really great flavors, plus you get your choice of three different types of rice... I'm not sure what else to say besides how good the food is.

Oh, also it's pretty nice inside.  It's big and airy and the music isn't on too loud.  So it'd be a great spot for me to hit with a bunch of my girlfriends as well. :)

    I'll definitely be back.

When I schedule lunch meetings on weekdays,
I either pick tues or wed afternoon.
Its least crowded which means I would never have to wait if I were to go 15 min before noon. Boy was I wrong! I am there 11:45 sharp and I see tables packed with people. There is a reason why this place is packed for lunch! Great lunch specials, reasonable priced lunch, clean banchans, good presentation and a lovely space! This day, we ordered bibimbap and the special lunch deluxe (?) option. Both were excellent and we were thoroughly happy with the service (except the waiting part!).

If you don't want to read a long essay: This place has a fancy exterior but no substance. Service and overall experience way below average.

Came with my mother and girlfriend to enjoy a nice night out and decided to try this place. Rookie move.

Signed our names in around 7:45 (took forever parking by the way, but the terrible parking of this place has nothing to do with the quality of this restaurant and didn't factor into the rating) and noticed it wasn't noticeably busy. There were plenty of customers but also plenty of empty tables. We waited fifteen minutes even though we were told the wait would be five to ten max, and when eventually escorted to our table the hostess realized that the table wasn't even for us and sent us back to the front to wait ten more minutes.

But hey, that's understandable. Poop happens and nobody is perfect. We sat and ordered a meat combo with cold noodles (nengmyun) hoping to get our dinner started. Then we waited. And we kept waiting. The reason why this isn't a 1 star review is because the side dishes were actually really well made. I munched on them for the thirty minutes that I waited before the meat started cooking. I guess they ran out of trays or something, but honestly paying such a ridiculously high amount for what you could get at a hundred other places in korea town, it was frustrating to have to wait so long to start eating. Basically got full off of broccoli and bean sprouts (but seriously pretty good side dishes I'll give them that)

Food was overall okay, it wasn't the best I had but it slightly made up for the long wait. I'm far from being an expert but the meat tasted high quality compared to the numerous other Korean BBQ places I've been to throughout the years.

About an hour and fifteen minutes into our meal we realized that the cold noodles still hadn't arrived. Da hail. By this point we were fed up so we cancelled the order, and we were full anyway off of the bean sprouts so we just called it a night.

In total we sat at the table for a little less than two hours. And the place wasn't even that busy! Bad service and in my opinion below average staff. Not worth the money and was a really bad experience overall. Wouldn't recommend it and will not return.

*note* I'm sure that there are a lot of people who thoroughly enjoyed this place, and there are a lot of instances where this restaurant was able to execute excellent service. Who knows. Just feel like I should document my experience so the general public can get a better sense of the big picture and get a more holistic feel of this place.

I stopped by MaDang 621 on a Thursday afternoon.  It's located in a mini mall with Daiso and Tom N Tom.

My colleague and I ordered the Bibimpap for $9.99.  There was a lot of chopped Romaine lettuce as opposed to the traditional Bibimpap.  I didn't really care for it.

Nicely decorated inside and parking is convenient compare to other valet only ktown malls. I think the restaurant offers validation. (not sure because I got my parking tix validated for 4 hrs at the movie theater). Service is whatever.

I ordered two lunch menus, one salmon and bool go gi. Basically all lunch menus serve the same side dishes, soup and your choice of brown, mixed or white rice.

Salmon and bool go gi both were on the sweeter side, pretty much all side dishes were sweet as well. I don't understand since when korean food started tasting so sweet?!

Basic, not so fancy banchans( side dishes) with some kinda den jang(soy bean paste) and go chu jang (red pepper paste) mixed soup?! None of lunch combos are worth the money. The rice portion was way too big and not enough side dishes. Unbalanced portions, it was mostly rice (carbs).

The kimchi and dried fish banchan were stinky and tasted funny, as a korean restaurant, if kimchi doesn't taste right, then the rest is pretty much expected to not taste right either.

I came with my hubby and my son after the movie around 1:45pm on friday for lunch.  The service was extremely slow. We waited 15 min before we were seated. My husband ordered yuk Gejang and ordered seasoned nangmyun and formal lunch w teriyaki chicken dish.
Yuk Gejang was soso. The broth was too light and didn't have the depth of beef or bone broth flavor. It seemed as it was very watery
Nangmyun was the worst I have ever tasted in my life. The noodle was not cooked properly and the seasoning was very bland with no taste.
My son's chicken dish was so small that it wasn't worth 12 dollars. Side dishes were low quality with poor taste.
When we rang the bell no one came.  I rang again and waited another 5 min  no one came so I had to flag someone to get us the check.  No one came again to refill water or side dishes. I waited another ten min before I got the check. The waiter forgotten about us   I had to ask third time and finally got the check to just get out of there. It was the worst food and service ever. I truly won't recommend this place to anyone

    Fancy!

The interior decor and set up makes this place feel like classy sit down korean cuisine.

Looking at the menu definitely a normal korean restaurant with jeon, naeng myun, rice dishes, soups, noodles and some interesting options for korean bbq.

I would say if you want to go to a nice sit down restaurant in k town for good korean restaurant this is the place to check out

    Ambiance: 5/5
    Service: 3.75/5
    Flavors: 3.75/5
    Textures: 4.5/5

    Banchan
Bamboo and bell pepper (didn't understand this one lol,  it was okay).

Broccoli tasted and felt like it was just steamed and then lightly dressed with sesame oil. I also don't really get this one,  and was also just okay.

Walnuts with anchovies was a first time for me,  and was very awesome. excellent balance of sweet,  salty,  savory,  crunchy.

Large daikon kimchi was good. Large pieces,  nice crunchy texture, mild but enjoyable spice flavor.

Napa kimchi was similar. Texture was good for the mouth feel, flavor was also mild but enjoyable.

Vegetable shoots (have no idea from what plant) were sweet,  salty,  a little vinegary. Really liked the flavor and crisp texture of these.

Something kind of quaint transpired while our galbi was cooking: the waiter heard me ask about the unidentifiable vegetable shoots, and proceeded to explain to our table what was in each dish: "this is bamboo,  this is uh...  broccoli,  this is kimchi..." lol. When my Korean sister-in-law asked what the vegetable shoots were,  he admitted he did not know,  but that he would ask the chef. He eventually came back to inform us that they were "pickled vegetable shoots". Haha...  effort appreciated I guess, but I was back at square one.

Black rice was good. Flavor was good,  and texture was perfectly sticky to be picked up by chopsticks. However,  the beans are disappointingly undercooked,  effecting both the net flavor and texture of the rice.

Salad greens and dressing is good but not nearly enough onions. It hadn't occurred to me until this moment just how easy it is to make a KBBQ salad mediocre if it lacks the right ratio of dressing - soaked onions.

Bibim naeng myeon had awesome beefy broth. As soon as I got it,  I ignored the solids and took spoonfuls of the broth: nice balance of savory, salty, sweet,  and spicy, but not quite enough magnitude of that delectable balance.

Noodles are a good texture, but expressed a disappointingly bland flavor after I mixed the spicy sauce all up in it. The paste was just a tad too sweet and could've used just a pinch more salt and spice for my taste. Adding the mustard to the extra bowl of beef broth made for a good soup chaser for my noodles with a decent kick. Great texture on the pickled vegetables - daikon,  cucumber... Asian pear is a nice touch,  adding crisp,  sweet bites to the dish. Flavor for the thinly sliced beef was good, but the texture was a bit weird to me, kinda granular.

Marinated bone-in galbi had a good texture and flavor.  Nice marbling and cooked result was delicious. Waiter was attentive and made sure we weren't  completely neglecting the BBQ while we enjoyed our noodles.

Overall,  would come here again when I want to prioritize ambiance, and convenience, as this place has a classy environment, has plenty of  parking in the plaza parking structure,  and does not have a wait at all even in a Friday night. Loved the feel here. Great for dates,  birthdays,  or other special occasions. For the price though, my go-to spot would be Soowun Galbi, where the food,  including the quality of meat, and quality and variety of banchan, is a clear winner to me,  and the interior is classy enough (although not a great strip mall to hang out while you have to wait over an hour). But I've waited close to 2 hours for a table at Soowun, and while the soonest I've ever gotten a table was 30 minutes, I find myself always averaging  at least an hour wait! So this place definitely has its perks.

As a side note,  this place also has an outdoor patio with a bar and lounge-like seating and music for what seems like private parties. Looks like fun out there haha.

Last Saturday, I went there for lunch with my sister and my boyfriend and it was a bit busier than the other days. There were three of us and one of the meals came out really late after the other two had already finished our meals. The waiter walked over to our table to told us the meal will be out in one minute like every other minute for fifteen minutes until we were done with the two meals. But we understood that it was busier than other days so did not say anything. I also come here often to know that they give us dessert without asking for it but this waiter did not bother to give it to us and took a while to get the check. So we wrote a little memo saying the food was too late for one person and that waiter forgot to give us dessert and left because he was too busy serving other tables. We knew we would've had to wait another ten minutes to see our server so we left. Although we did not have the best experience we  still left some tip also.

Today our family friends were visiting from Sacramento. We wanted to take them to a nice place so we went back. The service was a little slow given that it is a Saturday after holiday. We did not complain or say anything although one of the appetizer came out after all our meals were finished. We asked for our check and the dessert then a server, who was not our designated server, brought us dessert and all in a sudden says in front of everyone to my face "you can always just ask for dessert. there is no need to write it on the receipt you know" and since it was a family meal i just said ok sure and he repeated that sentence 3 times to make sure everyone on the table heard him. He was just being an asshole. My family and friends were confused and my sister and I did not say anything because we didn't want to make a scene in front of visitors. He was not even our server and he only brought the dessert to our table just so he can say that to my face when it was clearly evident we were with family friends. That was the most crazy asshole server I have ever seen in my life.

Yes this place has nice decor and atmosphere but the servers are just rude. Appetizer served after all the meals finished. Whatever. One meal served after everyone else is finished. Whatever. We were understanding of their busy situation but talking to customers that way is not understandable.

Never going back. Don't want to ever see that ASSHOLE again.

Brings banchan out and leaves all over the table... then brings out noodle first!
Who brings out noodle before the meat while grills are hot.
Dinner time servers are understaffed and our server pretty much gave up on his tip once orders were screwed. Ha!
What a waste of decor when you have poor service.
Meat are always in great quality but service and training is much needed in this place to be successful.

I come here time to time especially for business purpose because of the clean and upscale look and feel decor.   The staffs are nice and I like the classy feel to this restaurant.  However, I dont think the food is as good as it should be to go with the decor, price and overall ambiance.   They have lunch specials and regular menus.   Their presentation of the foods are very good and pretty but thr taste was ok.  For Jungsik menu (bento style) menus, spicy pork was pretty good but marinated beef tasted little bland.  Some poeple who tried salmon said it was good but the portion seemed to be really small.  I recently ordered bibim nangmyun (spicy cold noodle) but I was quite disappointed.  Even with the fact it is not a cold noodle specialized restaurant, I was a bit disappointed with the noodle and the taste od the dish.  Noodles wete not chewy at all even tasted mushy and felt like this might havr been from the frozen package that you can buy it from the market.  I probably will come to this place for business lunch/dinners due to the decor and service,  but I don't think this will be my first choice for personal korean food craving.

Ordered nyang muung and it was probably the worse thing I tasted. The cooked it previously and it was dry and crunchy .  I was surprised they didn't take the extra effort to make it soft and chewy. The place Ian nice but the food and ban chan very mediocre. I was disappointed because I go to the plaza often and had high hopes for this place. I don't expect the best service at Korean restaurant but they were definitely understaffed.

At first I was incredibly impressed with how nice the restaurant looked and that sense of awe lasted my whole stay at the restaurant for the entirely wrong reason.
I went there to eat with my family and we made our orders. The waiter despite repeating our orders to us got our orders completely mixed up. Their Deng Jang Ji Gae was outright terrible and tasted like water with peppers thrown into it. Their Bi Bim Bap was bland at best with the lowest quality beef I had ever seen at a restaurant for a moment I thought I was eating at McDonalds or something.

Now for the icing on the cake we had ordered our drinks before ordering our food. And we had yet not gotten our drinks when our food arrived and had asked 5 different waiters for our drinks. By the time we finished our meal we still didn't have our drinks despite constantly asking for them to the waiters who passed by us every 30 seconds.

To say that I am surprised that this place is still in business is an understatement. They do not deserve the right to have a restaurant business when they have arguably one of the worst service ever seen at a restaurant. I couldn't help, but laugh also when I gave my complaint at the end and received the most insincere apology. Her comment gave me a good laugh "You must be thirsty". No shit we waited an hour for our drinks and never got them. So save yourselves the trouble of eating at this terrible place and do them a service by having them fold up as a business, since they have lost the right to continue one.

So the last time I was here was when it was still new like the only occupants of the madang courtyard was this restaurant, school food, and cgv.

I tried it out today for a business lunch meeting and .... WOW! Their portion size is just... wow.  I eat a lot. I don't think I do, but apparently I do and when I say that their portion size was enough to fill me up (and there was still leftovers), it's huge.
And, you have to realize that I ordered from their LUNCH menu. Gawd knows just how huge their dinner portions are...

The only reason why I took away a star was because of the wait.

    1. There was a wait to get seated which I didn't mind because all good things are worth the wait, right? On top of that, we arrived at 1 (near the end of lunchtime) and it was still full which meant that the food was good, right?
Then, I checked the names on the list. My party was the third and we waited for about 40ish minutes.

    2. After we ordered, we waited a long ass time for our food to arrive. Like, a loooong time. Afterwards they told us that they were going to bring out all of the food together (which was the reason for the long wait).

    3. The food for everyone BUT MINE came out together. And, I had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for mine.

Basically, great portions but not really a place to go if you're hungry and don't want to wait an hour to two hours just waiting for your food.

When WooLaeOak closed, and MaDang was built in its place, I had high hope.  However, MaDang doesn't come close to WooLaeOak.  I'm writing this review after visiting this restaurant 3 times and I came away with very similar experiences.

    Pro:
    1.  Clean and contemporary interior design.

    Cons:
    1.  The food is mediocre.
    2.  Service is extremely bad.  The last time I ate here, there were 3 waitresses, and 6 tables were filled.  The waitresses were very inexperienced.  Instead of being attentive, they would just hang out at the kitchen entrance.  Our waitress didn't know how to cook the meal at our table.  We ordered the seafood combo.  She cooked the scallops for a minutes and served it to us.  It was still very raw.  On a previous visit, the waiter was cooking our meat, and it was served to us uncooked.  I like my steaks rare, but not uncooked.  All three times, the waitresses/waiters were very attentive when it was time to pay, but was absent the rest of the time there.  Horrible service all 3 times.

I really like this place. Went with my husband for our anniversary. Being an engineer, he was impressed with the design and build of the restaurant.  And the menu catered to different types of customers - those who like the lunch specials, and those who want a little bit more.  I ordered the salmon bento while my hubby tried the cabbage soup with short ribs.  Oooh, the short ribs were so tender.  My salmon was delicately cooked. The banchan was substantial.  Since we came after the mad rush hour lunch, the place was a little  untidy on the fringes, with unnecessary furniture that was a bit of an eye sore.  Overall, however, we enjoyed the dining experience.  The hostess was very nice to show me the second floor with  large rooms for group parties, and the patio area on the first floor. Yes, I'll definitely come back and try their other dishes.

MaDang 621 Korean BBQ restaurant is unlike any Korean restaurant that we've ever been to! It's classy, upscale and showcases distinctive traditional Korean dining elements adapted with a modern twist. These "adaptations" also offers value to your pocketbook. Upon entry, you're greeted with grace and sophistication, then you walk into a huge elegant blend of traditional and contemporary space with an open kitchen, bar and lobby. You're neither assaulted by any "offending" odors nor noisy foreign language clamoring. Walking up the wooden walkway, you're transported to an equally impressive dining area staffed by several waiters and wait help. Everyone spoke perfect English (or were multu-lingual) so you need not be "afraid" of feeling out of place. Service was impeccable as our waiter provided us with great descriptive information about several menu items. He was truly attentive, efficient and friendly.

It was lunchtime and fortunately, I had made a reservation through Open Table because this place got crowded really quickly. We got our beverages which were "brain numbing cold" that collided and neutralized some of the spicier banchan. Our first appetizer, Dak Nal Ke, spicy honey and chilie pepper glazed crisp fried chicken wings arrived. These wings were sweet-spicy and held its crispy crust well under the glaze. They went so well with our cold beer. Meanwhile, our second appetizer, the seafood Pa Jun arrived on a sizzling griddle. This egg-based pancake was fluffy, filled with young, sweet and tender green onions and lots of sautéed chopped baby octopus. Then the rest of our food came out fresh, hot and "furious"...in an instant, a huge steaming bowl of Duk Mandu Gook (beef dumplings and sliced rice cake in beef broth) and Nakji Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap (crisped rice and spicy sautéed baby octopus served in sizzling stone bowl). It was a meal balanced between spicy and neutralizing foods. All dishes were appropriately sized portions, appetizingly presented and evoked all of your 5 senses from kitchen to table.

We ended our lunch with a cup of chilled honey tea..not sure if it was rice or barley based. It was an exceptional and light end to a fabulous, classy and somewhat exotic meal.

There is ample validated parking for this restaurant as well as the other businesses located in this shopping plaza/mall. The name of the shopping plaza or mall is...MaDang.

    Upscale Korean Restaurant.

    Varied selection of appetizers including:
GO CHU TI GIM, Fried stuffed korean green pepper withf beef or white fish
BIN DAE DUK, Small pancakes made with organic yellow mungbean
PA JUN, Pancake w/scallion  (vegetarian, Seafood or kimchi)
DAK NAL KE, Spicy honey & chili glazed crispy chicken wings
SOON DAE, Steamed blood sausage with roasted garlic

Typical spread of banchan... many varieties which are refilled by the attentive staff.

    Quality meat choices for BBQ:
Hang Jung Sal (Sliced Pork Shoulder Butt) was a favorite.

The meat may be better at Park, the banchan may be better at Soo Won, the scene cooler at Kang Hodong Baekjeong... but there is way less of a wait here, way less of a frenzied atmosphere... and you can reserve on open table saving some major time.  If you've got a last minute urge for Korean BBQ and don't want to brave a chaotic wait of an hour plus at some of the crazy-popular places in K-town... then get on opentable.com and see if you can make a rez... park in the garage of the complex that Madang 621 is in... walk in, sit down and enjoy some nice K-BBQ without all the noise and hassle.

Fancy Korean Restaurant. Sounds like an irony doesn't it?
I must admit, I feel like Korean food is best served at hole in the walls. However, I came here for a graduation lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The decor of the restaurant is modern with a hint of traditional Korean. Their bathroom stalls are all individual with a sink (how fancy). Upstairs of the restaurant is for bigger groups, I believe.

Their combos (A,B,C,D) are variations of Korean BBQ menus with some gooks and jungols. Got the C combo. Their banchans were fresh, super solid. The meat quality was fantastic. Every meat that came out had perfect amount of fat and meat. The only whateva one was the spicy pork. It was a bit chewy and overcooked.

They also use charcoal so the meat tastes even better. Parking is good, It's located inside the CGV plaza. Service is good, they kept refilling water and banchans without us prompting/asking them.

Not the most amazing Korean restaurant I have been to. The service sucks, and the food isn't that amazing. There are far more many better Korean restaurants out there. I will give it a three for the clean environment.

I love this restaurant! Beautiful decor and very friendly staff. My boyfriend and I frequent this place and its always an A+!

Definitely try the bin-dae-dduk and a combination meat plate, we usually order the Kobe prime rib, rib eye, and other yummies.

For me to have to create a new yelp account to write this review should tell you how much disappointment I have towards this restaurant.

I have been here a couple times before (not by choice)  for business meetings and what not and let's not mention the one time I saw a cockroach and I even let that slide but this incident was the last draw.

How many time do I have to come here to get just decent service?! This place has to be by far the worst service for overpriced Korean food. The management is just plain RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

I am a pretty laid back guy and never have once wrote a "review" about a restaurant but I feel the people getting ripped off here have a right to know.

Lovely location and a nice variety of foods and wines. Had a great lunch special with a good section of food. Had [DAE JI] Spicy pork tenderloin , Purple Rice and  a variety of sides.  A must stop in K-Town!

I live walking distance to Madang and with my 3 month old twins, sometimes it's easier to walk there than to get in and out of the car with 2 car seats.

Visited other stores in the complex and with 2 kids, we try to eat early and get out before the dinner crowd. Walked in around 4 P.M. and tried to have couple of bowls of namgmyun () but told the chef is away. Returned and came back at 4:30 as told my the host and now the machine isn't warmed up.

I can't rate the food because I didn't get served but for the kitchen to be unprepared to serve customers at 4:30 especially such as simple dish is simply unacceptable.

5 stars is not something to be given lightly.  I have been to over 30 Korean bbq's and this is easily in the top five.  The pictures on Yelp speak for themselves.  The venue was elegant, with candles on alternating steps on the stairs to the private rooms on the second floor, the meat was exquisite with fine marbling, the salmon was fresh, you get the picture.  Perfect for impressing a date!  Amazing and would definitely be going back soon!

Fanatic, classy, tasty, not too expensive place.
Fresh food, fast service,  great lunch combinations. What can I say, I'm going there quite often for lady couple years. And I'm not planning to stop.
    Good place to go

This was a feast for the eyes but not for the stomach. Everything looked vibrant and yummy but smelled funky and tasted bland. Despite bookmarking this restaurant (since it's original name) for a long time, last weekend was my first experience.

I always thought the food would be expensive and I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable lunch specials ($9-$15). Considering the fancy ambiance, free validated self parking, and the quantity of food, the lunch specials are really a bargain.

The "college me" would've given MaDang 621 higher marks due to the price. But the "grown up me" values quality more. Unfortunately, the food just didn't make the cut. My dak galbi special tasted just like a dried up hamburger patty from McDonalds. I was very disappointed.

This is a more upscale, fancy Korean BBQ restaurant.
Def a place to go to for a nice Korean BBQ dinner.

Came here for a bday, sat upstairs in a private room

There was one waiter who was in charge of our room and two other waiters who came by to help.
The waiter who was in charge of our room was very nice and quick.
Food and service took a while since we sat upstairs and had to bring everything from downstairs.

Because our tables were already full of other dishes, the waiter cooked our meat for us at a table outside and brought it to us.
We did have a grill at our table and you would think the meat would taste better if we grilled it ourselves.
But it was better when the waiter grilled it outside and brought it. It was perfect
Their marinated ribs were the best.
There were like 6~7 different banchan (side dishes) they give.

The nengmyun isn't like the usual nengmyun at other Korean restaurants.
Its different. The noodles are thicker and the soup base taste was different also
Its not the usual nengmyun so I suggest not ordering it.
I wasn't too fond of the different noodles.
