My friend made this video, and he has just told me that, for these exchanges, he seems to have been banned from the sub. He commented on this post and it did not show up, and he also made one or two posts that were removed immediately.

Because I didn't consult with the person who originally banned him. There's typically a discussion about unbanning someone first but this seems time-sensitive so I opted not to wait for that discussion to take place. I don't know if I have all the facts so I can't say for sure how the decision will stand.

I'd just like to point out (since the whole conversation wasn't shown in the video) that there was one point in time in which the person who sent the modmail accepted that FREIHH was correct and apologized. Either that or he was being sarcastic.

So, while I don't fully get what each party believed at that point in the argument, it seems to me like there was some mis-communication going on.

Hi I'm the one. It was late at night and I gave up on it, but in the morning I realized that on greatgigsguy's fiverr page, he has an option where you can put a image on his monitor. I then realized the next morning that the troll did just that.

If that's right, honestly, I'm all for excusing FREIHH, cause I'm still not sure I'd believe it even now. Although I'm not sure censoring is ever a good idea.

We've had an awful lot of modmail today and yesterday, mostly complaints about witch hunting and such. I'll dig through and see if I can find the conversation. As an FYI, your comment here in this thread got caught by the regular spam filter. Something similar happened to ongamers.com, webmup.com and some others and I've had the AutoModerator since start approving posts with links to those sites. I would guess mods elsewhere have trained the spam filter to remove fiverr links.

It briefly was removed by the spam filter. I greenlit the comment so it would show again. As I said above, I suspect the normal spam filter provided by reddit has been trained to catch fiverr links (or alternatively, the site is new enough that the spam filter doesn't know better; lots of brand new sites get caught in it for a while). I wouldn't know.

We've had a lot of issues to deal with since then and the mod recruitment was put on hold after Angel was added to the team. We're still planning on getting a second new moderator soon.

In light of recent events, could you provide an update on this situation? I believe I speak for the majority of /r/globaloffensive when I say I'd like to see an action of discipline or explanation. As far as I can see this moderator indeed broke rediquette and has failed to do his job at moderating this sub-forum, however in lieu he is guilty until proven innocent. As well as being a frequent viewer of this sub-reddit, I also believe I again speak for the majority of this community when I say none of us want to browse over a shady link.

Yeah Im actually subscribed to his youtube channel and he does giveaways and very personal family videos, conventions, even weird interview things on it, things you couldn't pay him to do through his fiverr page. I'm 99% sure you're wrong OP

I mean, the owner of the youtube channel could have (and probably did) commissioned this video from his fiverr acount and posted it to make the channel seem legit. Again, there is a screenshot of the fiverr account saying he was unaware of the youtube channel

The VACation video was posted to a channel called "Based Tyrone" with 5,000 subs. "Big Man Tyrone" has 65,000 subs and is the guy from Fiverr's actual channel, and he does actually call himself Tyrone. Here's Tyrone taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge as proof.

Christ, guys not everything is a conspiracy. Tyrone's been around for a few months now, and while it may appear odd from the outside, it's not a scam. Due to increased demand for his videos, Tyrone moved off of Fiverr and on to his own site, so he can charge more in an attempt to make his workload manageable. Here is an example of a noncommissioned video, on the "Big Man Tyrone" YouTube channel, in which he refers to himself as Tyrone, giving credence to the channel and the links therein. Your friend likely contacted someone who worked under Tyrone, and as such got a canned or unknowledgeable response.
