If you’re more concerned about what’s convenient for you and businesses than disabled people’s lives and safety, you’re scum and I hate you
also aesthetics “i would rather have a pretty building than disabled people in it”
yuppppp
this reminds me of a conversation I had with someone about ramps possibly being required in new homes being built in some city… (I think austin? but the motion may have not even passed)
They were horrified of the idea because *gasp* what if this raised the houses prices very very slightly* and then average Joe would have to postpone getting his dream house?
You know, because disabled people, who already are generally unemployed and make less money than abled people, can totally afford to dish out however much money to add a ramp after the house has already been built, as opposed to in the middle of the construction process when it’d presumably be cheaper (cuz you’ve already got the labor and supplies).
Abled people, especially who are heavily in favor of capitalism, can be so selfish.
*which may have been illogical anyway, cuz are ramps really more expensive to build than stairs?
